Booked a platinum caravan for a week whilst visiting family in the area. We didn't get a platinum caravan we got at the very best a poor Gold standard. Raised a query about this as the cleanliness had a lot to be desired when we arrived on site. We met the sour faced receptionist that has absolutely no social or interpersonal skills who looked blankly at us when we raised our concerns. She did absolutely nothing to assist us. I telephoned Head Office later that day and was told to take lots of photos and to return to reception and ask to see the manager (Chloe). That didn't happen, she was busy we were told but the cleaning supervisor arrived to our caravan a while later she complained that she'd called out before but we weren't there She said there were no platinum caravans on site and what was the problem with the cleaning. I said I would have to speak to head office as we had paid for a platinum caravan and she asked me not to as if people complain they don't get a Christmas party!! She returned later with the site manager Chloe McCormick who at the time acknowledged we had not got what we paid for and offered us a complimentary week next year she said she'd been in touch in the next few days to confirm in writing and that was the last we heard or seen of Chloe the site manager. We contacted Head Office again sent on all the photos showing what we booked and what we got and the standard of cleaning. They referred the matter back to Chloe at St Osyth and told us we would hear from someone in the next 14 days, that was over a month ago and now nobody is responding. Such bad customer service. They just take your money and leave you to it!"

Would not recommend! Started with unhelpful receptions staff when reported first day no hot water, said they would send some one out but no one came! Next day we went to find a maintenance man ourselves which have to say, very helpful and pleasant! He saved the day and sorted the boiler…. Still no response from reception other than a text asking would I like to purchase a caravan.. no!!! |The club house, the staff so miserable! No one wanted to serve or if they did be happy about it, not a one off same couple nights, one lady snatched my partners money off him very rudely! While queue of people just stared in disbelief. Tables always dirty and never see anyone wiping the tables at all. I could go on…. Anyway, checked out early and went home as thought it wasn’t a pleasant stay!

The new facilities are great but opening the barrier at the entrance seems to be a problem as it takes ages for someone to hit the button to open it. The caravans always look clean and tidy and the outside areas are well kept.

This is going to be an honest review. I spent a week here with my family, including two children under 10.

There are definitely some areas in need of improvement, as the facilities feel outdated and underwhelming. For example, the pool was a major disappointment. The outdoor pool was completely locked and unavailable, which wasn't mentioned when we booked. The only option was the indoor pool, but it had a 45-minute time limit. I believe the pool should be expanded and the time restrictions relaxed, as 45 minutes is barely enough time to enjoy the experience.

Additionally, the beach is quite far from the location, so I think they should focus on expanding the indoor facilities and adding more activities within the caravan park.

In terms of entertainment, it could be greatly improved with more activities for both kids and adults, like larger parks, golf courses, and amusement rides. The arcade, too, felt outdated and could benefit from better, more engaging games.

On a positive note, the food options were excellent. The quality was very good, with fresh and delicious offerings, and a variety of choices to suit different tastes.

Overall, while the service and facilities could use some improvement, it's still a decent place to stay.

Stayed here for 2 weeks and enjoyed it I loved every little detail they had at the entertainment complex. They pool was nice the slide wasn't a thrilling one but hey it was a slide not many places do. One thing I didn't like about the entertainment is all the singing they do it's basically all there is unless it's bingo or a quiz of some sort. Now the caravan was a special one I can't remember the name but it was more expensive it wasn't worth it it was the exact same as a normal one but nice an all just a little dirty.

Update: THEY OFFERED US AN INSULTING £30.50 REFUND FOR A WEEKS STAY. WE SPENT NEAR ENOUGH THAT BUYING CLEANING SUPLLIES TO MAKE THE CARAVAN SAFE TO STAY IN. DO NOT STAY HERE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICES IS HORRENDOUS
We booked to stay here for a week in a gold plus disabled access caravan. Was extremely disappointed and would not stay again. The caravan was filthy dirty, coffee/tea stains on multiple surfaces, dirty cultery, left over food in the fridge and freezer from previous people, cigarettes on shelves, stains all over the curtains, dirt all over the bathroom floor. And the worst was the smell. As soon as you opened the door the strong smell of cat urine was disgusting. The bedroom was the worst, I was not able to sleep in there with my baby.
We had to go and buy cleaning supplies and wash everything. The doors kept getting stuck and my sister couldn't open or shut them (wheelchair user)
The noise from park staff early in the morning is horrible, from 7.30am driving fast and loudly over bumps and banging.
There was no changing facilities for babies in the clubhouse as it was broken.
And we had a single quilt on a double bed. Overall was not a nice stay and we booked train tickets home before our stay is over.

Only stayed in a friend's caravan for a long weekend and enjoyed it. All good apart from the food in the onsite newly decorated club house needs some attention. The food not quite matching the great club house. Pizza from the large oven is good though. 👍

Update - The site has replied, see below. Looks like a standard reply as same as most others here. I'd like it if they had said they will look into the poor food but no, oh well, best eat out in future. Save the club house for the bingo and beer!

Stayed here for the weekend. Entertainment is OK and plenty of things for the kids to do. We visited clacton on sea that was OK too. The caravan was filthy carpets and sofa were filthy and stained.d amage to the caravan too im assuming from previous vistitors that hadnt been put right. This was a gold caravan. The bar/restaurant was appalling waited far to long for our food to come out and it wasn't even busy in there. When the food finally arrived it was appalling and definitely not worth the £70 we paid just for food. the chips had been cooked hours before and just kept warm ( the manager didn't deny this when questioned either ) half of my meal was missing and when asked I was told they forgot and have just put it in the oven for me which was ridiculous. I could either wait for my food to go cold while I waited for the rest of it or eat what I had then eat the rest when it came out ( probably another hour and half) when we complained about the food the manager came over with a stinking attitude clicking his pen at us and couldn't of cared less and couldn't see what the problem was. My kids had ham egg and chips, the ham was literally wafer thin ham that you would put on a sandwhich, I couldn't believe I'd just paid £25 for a slice of thin ham, stale chips and and the worst looking eggs on the planet. My partner went for the roast diner, we paid then they came to the table to tell him he couldn't have this and to choose something else. They didn't refund the difference either. If you are staying here and thinking of eating at the restaurant I honestly wouldn't waste your money. Other guests were complaining too and the sheer rudeness of the restaurant manager just topped it. First time visiting this area and it will be the last too
