Very short walk from the free carpark to the monument. It's a bit steep but gravel pathways to monument. From the car park you also have access to Louden hill and other walks of the local area.

An impressive sculpture, and a wonderful piece of public art designed, built and installed by Richard price in 2004.
It's 5 metres high and has a cut out silhouette of the warrior William Wallace, also decorated with words, etching and decoration about the life of Wallace and the 2 battles fought near this sight.
There is free parking and benches and picnic tables nearby for walkers and tourists heading up the Loudoun Hill

This place has been the centrepiece of battles and settlements for over 1000 years. The Spirit of Scotland monument represents an outline of William Wallace.
On a clear day the views from the top of Loudon Hill are well worth the 15 minute trek from the small carpark.
Bring good boots and beware of rogue sheep on occasion.

First visit for me and only a short 25 minute drive from home.
Decent size car park as it is inaccessible otherwise.
Feels really remote and full of atmosphere

The statue is near the parking place, but you can follow the oath to the top of the hill. Last third without a proper way. Can be slippery.

Nice place to visit. The memorial is close to the parking, but you can take a nice walk in the area or climb near Loundoun Hill.
