One of the most picturesque parts of the UK, with an amazing mix of the rugged moors, historic towns, and beautiful seaside and natural harbours - Salcombe and Dartmouth to name but two. If you want the weight of the world to lift off your shoulders, make time to indulge yourself in doing nothing more than me or us time. See it, feel it, soak it up and feel the joy.
The only down side is that you have to leave!

To be objective, it is quite pricey, and as you get into the school holidays, the idyll becomes a bit compromised. The peace of the place diminishes, and you may well battle for parking, space on the road, and room to eat, drink and breathe. So - avoid the holidays and find the time and space to enjoy it.

Circular walk done in Stoke Gabriel, parked the car near the primary school it has two hours free parking and there is also a nearby shack restaurant with £5 all day parking with a view of the river. Lovely walk paths and on that day it a low tide, manage to walk by the river. Beautiful views 🫢🏼.

This is a beautiful place to visit. Having never been I was surprised by the number of amazing beaches and countryside. It was surprisingly quiet and really enjoyed our week here.

One thing to bear in mind is the roads. The roads here can be quite tricky. Luckily we have a small car so the lanes were not a problem. But if you have a large vehicle or caravan just be aware some of the lanes can be quite narrow.

Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere to visit in the Devon area. We all had a great week with hiking, swimming, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.

Beautiful, perfectly picturesque part of the world.
Astounding clifftop views along the coastal path with more secluded, little sandy beaches than you can shake a stick at.
With many a pub to visit along the way to keep you well fed and watered.

We went Kayaking in this area and found a remote beach which you can only get to via sea transportation - loved the quietness, beautiful clear water and cove. Totally recommend if you can get to this destination as you have plenty to explore here such as water caves.. this quiet coves and small beaches can be accessed via Mothercombe beach or Bigbury on sea!

What a beautiful area. We walked the sw coastal path and it was just breathtakingly beautiful. So beautiful that the section between Brixham and the Erme estuary took longer than anticipated due to the beautiful scenery, and we were not able tp walk as far as we had hoped.
