Thankyou to all the Volunteers who organised and ran the Beer Festival. A great selection of ales and ciders to which we sampled all of them between us! All staff were good humoured with Phil Jones being particularly passionate in sharing his knowledge of the operation, history and future aspirations of the railway. An all weather attraction in proving that despite the heavy rain we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will hopefully see you again at the next Beer Festival. We look forward to the day of being able to travel on an extended running line at some point.

We went on the Santa Train today and as a family ranging from 7 months to 89 years we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The little one loved chatting to Santa in his grotto.

All the volunteers were brilliant.

Thank you for the special memories that were made today!

What a friendly bunch and I loved that for Β£12.50 my son and I could keep travelling up and down the line. One of the drivers was very kind and whilst the train was stationary, allowed my son to put some special keys in and get it set up and ready to go! The scenery is gorgeous, especially on the sunny day with blue skies that we visited on!

Cold and snowy afternoon on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway Santa special. Friendly staff and a great experience for the children. Short train ride steam hauled through the countryside. Thankyou

Great morning on the Santa Express! Took along one of the older ladies I drive and they treated us wonderfully! Coal fire in the shop! All we needed was a slice of bread to toast!! Lovely sunny frosty day for our trip up the tracks. Mulled wine and a mince pie warmed us up. Then to see Father Christmas πŸŽ…!! So well done. Thank you all!

Small, but perfectly formed. A nice little railway, run by very lovely volunteers, who were working hard to make the thing run smoothly, in the absence of one or two of the same volunteers, who didn't make it in "to the office". In no particular order, then:
Great buffet in railway carriage,
Lovely little museum with lots of great, relevant exhibits,
Good shoppe, especially if you collect those lovely little magnetic totems,
Wonderful little station, staffed by very friendly (and flexible) volunteers,
Unique in its own little, but ambitious, way and well worth a visit. We combined it with a visit to the East Somerset Railway, 20 minutes away

Lovely little afternoon out with the nephews.
The staff, who were all volunteers, were a delight and happy to interact and share their knowledge and passion with us.
John was Archie’s favourite. Shout out to John πŸ™‚
Had no idea the world war pill box was there but was very interesting when inside if a little snug to get into.
Nice snacks from the buffet cart. Is more like a tuck shop but did the job keeping the boys happy and all snacked up.
All in all a nice afternoon.
