Stayed bank holiday weekend, just me and two children (5 and 9). Stayed in a caravan. We did meet with friends who were staying in the touring part (which had great showers and toilet facilities). Caravan was spacious and had the usual utensils etc in, beds were really comfy. Bad points were a serious lack of plug sockets, really poor shower (not even remotely powerful), heating set on a timer so it was roasting when we got there and when we returned the next day from being out, also wasn't the cleanest. The site itself is small but really busy, the staff all super friendly and the entertainment was good. Didn't book any activities as found them to be over priced. The area was beautiful, very close to the sea front. There's a splash pad, play park and amusements within about 20 minutes walking distance. The amusements were very reasonably priced, rides ÂŁ2.50 each and kids were allowed on for ages on trampoline and bouncy castle. Overall, a lovely weekend and would return.

Maisie from the Entertainment Team was AMAZING! From the moment we walked in to the venue we felt welcomed by her (and the Team!) our boys Harry & Jack (twins 3 year olds) really took to her and she was brilliant at keeping them busy whilst mummy’s favourite holiday indulgence Bingo was on! Thank you ever so much! Very friendly, warm and we reckon you should give that girl a pay rise! We thoroughly enjoyed all the Cove Crew Entertainment and how hard they all worked to a relatively quiet audience due to it being the end of the busy season! |Thank you again!|Team Taylor

2nd Camping trip to try our new tent out, on first impressions holiday park looked ok, the touring part is a short distance from shop, pool, restaurant & bar & fish shop ect. The shower & toilet block were good and there is a place to sort chemical toilet & wash up area that has x2 sinks which is a bit of let down as there is over 100 touring pitches. Our pitch was not quite as level as id hoped, and we struggled to connect to EHU at first ended up running cable under tent to reach EHU point. We had our grandaughter with us 9yrs so hoped she would enjoy little holiday too, the pool was good she loved it, the children's play area was a good distance from us, it would of been better if touring section had its own play area nearby. The entertainment team did a good job keeping children entertained with dances & games ect, there is a supermarket which sells essentials and a shop selling cove crew souvenirs ect bit pricey i thought ÂŁ5.99 for a lanyard that lit up with cove crew character on a card my grandaughter loved hers lol. Overall it was a nice break despite weather.

The staff are fantastic. The restaurant, arcade, park and pool are all 5 stars. The issue was the caravan(s). The first van we was given was horrendous. The staff were lovely and changed it without fuss but still the caravan we was given wasn't much better. The sofa did smell of wet dog and the radiators are full of rust. The door handles on internal doors are faulty. I don't think this is fault of the park or the staff. This is fault of people who go and are tramps/can't look after anything. I dread to think what their homes are like. I suggest this park take deposits or bill for damaged things in the caravans. Would also suggest caravans that are pet free and caravans that are allowed pets because I had a baby on the floor and the carpet dog smell was awful.
I would highly praise the food and staff though. The camp could do with an indoor soft play for babies/young children and the shop needs a better selection of fresh food and toiletries.

We have just returned from Solway.
We stayed in a Chalet. (17) we were right by the main entrance. But we weren't disturbed by any noise.
The Chalets are a lovely size and ours was cleaned and well maintained.

The site itself was lovely, the service from the staff was friendly and helpful.

There's a lot to do on site. We did the pottery painting (can just drop in and do this) we did swimming most days (just pop into the pool the day before to book an hour time slot)
There is an arcade on site which has a fair few machines in.
There's a restaurant which we didn't use, but did get some Pizzas which were lovely. As well as the fish ans chips (little pricey though!)
Shop on site has a good variety.

We went to the entertainment most nights, good variety for the kids and the staff running it tried their best to engage with the kids and make it a good evening for all. Drinks prices were reasonable!

The nearby town had an amusement in it with a few little rides on the outside.
There was a nice little bakery and a few other cafes but not much else. There was a little splash park by the amusements and a little park by the bowling club. But apart from that if you wanted to do anything then you'd have to head outside of the town.

All in all though with the activities on site and the surrounding area we had a great time!

Liked: The touring manager at the site was very helpful and polite. The toilet facilities, showers and washing up facilities were of good quality and cleaned regularly. The activities on site were good (we went swimming, took part in superhero training, did sand art, archery, hired peddle go karts and went to the Cove Crew show). It was nice to have electric hook up.

Disliked: Though the toilet facilities were of good quality and cleaned regularly, they were often left unclean by those who used them. There were lots of children who were left to roam the site without adult supervision who behaved in a very antisocial manner. The site was very noisy from 7pm till the 11pm curfew (and often continued to be noisy after that too). You could here children and adults swearing loud karaoke singing and lots of adults were drinking alcohol too. Our children could not get to sleep and were often anxious about what was going on outside of the tent. This made the evening squire stressful.

There was nowhere to change gas cannisters or to freeze ice packs for our cool boxes. This meant we had to go into Carlisle to buy extra equipment.

Seaguls would often fly over and defecate on the tent and cars.

Our daughter has milk intolerance and the shop on site did not sell any milk alternatives (ie oat milk/soya milk).

We stayed on the touring area. Facilities are well looked after & modern. Great shower & toilet rooms. Food was good. Great little splash park & play area just up the road roughly 10 min walk & swimming pool on site. Really enjoyed our few days here 😊

Liked: We were greeted warmly on arrival despite arriving quite late—around 8:30pm on Friday evening. The late reception staff were really friendly and helpful, which made for a great first impression. The campervan area with electric hook-up was easy to access, and we had no issues getting set up.

Although we didn’t go swimming ourselves, we did pop into the swimming area and were really impressed by how polite and friendly the staff were. They were very accommodating and seemed happy to help, which gave a great impression of the leisure facilities. It’s always reassuring when staff go out of their way to be approachable, especially around children.

There were plenty of activities available for kids, which was a big plus. The “What’s On” board had loads of events listed for both daytime and evening throughout the week—something for all ages and families. It’s clear that the site puts effort into providing entertainment and keeping children engaged, which is a huge bonus for families. We also really enjoyed the pizza van on Saturday night—the pizzas were freshly made and really tasty. The arcade area looked great too, with modern machines and a freshly refurbished look. The facilities overall have a lot of potential and offer plenty to do onsite.

Disliked: Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness of the site really let it down. The shower blocks were particularly poor—both the men’s and women’s had muddy floors inside the actual shower cubicles, and this didn’t improve across the weekend. It made us reluctant to use the showers more than once and gave the impression they weren’t being cleaned regularly.

The lack of cleaning was also noticeable in the clubhouse and surrounding areas. We sat outside at the picnic tables near reception on Saturday evening and noticed nobody came to clear the tables or collect glasses the whole time we were there. Tables were full of empty glasses and rubbish, and the bins were overflowing. This was consistent throughout the evening and really took away from what could’ve been a lovely atmosphere.

Inside the clubhouse, we had the same issue—tables were left uncleared for long periods. We had to move from one table to another because the first was covered in leftover food and glasses, and even then, the mess wasn’t cleaned up for a while. Downstairs in the arcade, despite the lovely decor and new machines, all the tables were sticky, covered in rubbish, and clearly hadn’t been wiped down. At one point, my hair actually got stuck to a sticky patch on the wall behind a high table. It just seemed like there weren’t enough staff around to stay on top of the cleaning, which was disappointing given how good the facilities themselves were.

That said, it was an extremely hot weekend and we booked very last-minute, so it’s possible the site was just busier than usual and they weren’t fully prepared for the number of guests. Hopefully this was just an off weekend and not the usual standard.
