Easy parking and for a kids store it’s not messy at all

Kids love coming here but I can’t lie I love it too

I like Smyths as they have toys for all budgets and also the special offers are good

This is our closest store and we are regulars but our experience with the staff at the store today is beyond disappointing.
We took our boy to choose and buy a 3-wheeled scooter. We asked one lady to help us get it out of the shelf, as all scooters and bikes are locked with long chains. The lady was really struggling to get it our and she seemed really pissed... we even apologized that our son had chosen one of the scooters at the end of the chain, and after a while she gave up and said 'it's stuck in there, there's nothing I can do'...she didn't ask for help, she didn't call another colleague, she didn't offer an alternative model...nothing! we were really baffled; our son wasn't given any chance to try the scooter, not even to step on it. We aborted the purchase and went on to pay for another toy we were carrying, but what could have been a £99 purchase ended up being a £7.99. At the pay point, I asked the cashier if I could give some feedback about our experience, and I mentioned we were really there to buy a scooter but we hadn't been able...she said (rather upset) that all scooters were locked so people didn't steal them... I said it was a poor exhibiting strategy and she said it wasn't her job. Bottom line, we just bought a similar scooter on Amazon. This Coventry branch really needs to sort out their staff training, morale and service attitude.

Selection and prices are as good as any other smiths BUT the people inside serving the public are absolutely dreadful. I went to buy a bike and dolls as gifts and the attitude of all of the people I came in contact put me off completely. Most of these people are harsh, rude, don’t ask or tell you anything, they seem very unhappy to be working there and they treat customers like garbage. Frankly I could not take it anymore after a while and simply left everything at the till and left disgusted. I would recommend avoiding this shop unless you are really desperate for time and don’t mind being treated badly.

Big thanks to Matt. He sorted us out with a Disney Rise of Red doll that we couldn't locate. The doll was well hidden behind others as its a sought after item. He made our 8 year old daughter very happy!! And did it all with a smile. Lovely chap.

toy store. There are also baby room products. Products such as baby bed car seat. There is enough variety in these products and toys. Expensive and affordable products are exhibited together. You can find many toy models for girls and boys. You can also find activity materials. Models are available in products such as pools. The store was moderately busy. The aisles are a little narrow. I think the store square meter should be bigger. The product is very small compared to the number of products in the store is boring after 20 minutes. Still an ideal store to buy toys. I will come to buy toys next time

There is something very off about the staff in this place. Very unwelcoming attitude from everybody.

Did a click & collect a while ago for an expensive controller and got handed a battered box with the seal broken (most likely returned). I asked for a different one because there were 2 available online. Staff said the other one is even worse condition. Desperately needed the item for a gift so I took it. Just as I was leaving I had second thoughts about gifting a damaged box with the seal broken (it looks used and I had just paid full price for a brand new one) so I took it back to the counter.

I asked for a refund and the staff member proceeded to open the entire box with attitude claiming it's "mint" condition. I explained again, it's a gift. Mint condition means sealed and not damaged to me, regardless of the product inside the box. I asked again to see the other controller box and he said again, it's even worse. I insisted and he finally got it...

It was in perfect condition! He blatantly lied to get rid of the damaged one! Awful practice deceiving a customer like that. I didn't bring it up because at that point, we both knew what he was up to and thought it was best to stay silent than cause a fuss. He handed it to another member of staff to sort out a swap...

Who then proceeds to BREAK the seal! And I quickly tell her to stop, I needed it in brand new, unsealed condition. She explained that they have break open the seal of expensive items to show it on their CCTV inside the box... I explained you can feel it's inside the box. Sony wouldn't supply an empty box. Ridiculous policy.

At this point I just asked for a refund. Wasn't getting anywhere.

After leaving, I went down the road to Currys to see if they had one in stock and they did! Staff member was lovely and sorted me out really quickly and it was in pristine condition. They didn't have to break the seal on camera either.

Quite possibly the worst retail experience I've ever had.

Presently had to return a non working toy to the Coventry store. I would like to congratulate you on the level of customer service we received which was exceptional we were served by Rachel who did a very professional job.
