I had to take my beloved VW van into see these guys. I was greeted by the lovely Candy, who was very welcoming and made my grandson feel at home with toys. Kirsty was also frendly and helpful . Aaron, worked on my van, Andy offered help over the phone too. All together a very helpful team with good energy and integrity.

Almost a carbon copy of last review.
Booked for Service, MOT and Brake Fluid Service.
Rarely answer phone calls, do not bother reading emails therefore have no idea what the customer requirements are, and don’t deliver them anyway without constant reminding. Doubts have set in that the work was not carried out in the first place, because the service was so appalling.
Pick up and drop off times were never done on the arranged day.
No hard copies of MOT cert or Services( as requested).
Did not upload service info electronically from previous years service.
Half way through this 3 week ordeal SMV said Van was ready for drop off when brake fluid service wasn’t even done.
Really disappointed as thought SMV was better than this.

We sadly received appalling service from SMV Commercials. From the very start of our transaction there was absolutely no communication leaving us constantly having to chase them. The service and MoT were not booked when they were meant to be, prolonging us receiving the vehicle time and time again leaving us constantly having to call to get an update including two occasions where we were led to believe we would be collecting the vehicle. We only knew it had failed an MoT 2 days earlier because we looked it up online ourselves !! Despite raising concerns the communication continued to lack. The van was handed over with no paperwork or evidence of work carried out and upon realising this when we got home we called the next day requesting the paper work be sent to us when we were told we could “get it online”. I requested paper copies sent as you cannot download service history or work carried out. This was not received so after three weeks I followed this up again to be ignored. Calling to speak to the director of sales who was unavailable today I have finally been emailed a document. The level of customer service here has been the worst I’ve ever experienced and sadly turned an exciting purchase for us into a very stressful one. I am not one to leave bad reviews at all but I feel the service should be addressed in the hope others don’t have to experience the same level of service we did !

Purchased a t5.1 for £14.2k in November. Van was slightly overpriced but I thought purchasing from a dealer was a bit of insurance so worth it.

Initially inspected the van and paid in full. I later that day queried a green button that I saw on the dash. I assumed it was for disconnected roof hazard lights and forgot to enquire on the forecourt. It was actually to operate the window washers as the stalk had broken, though nothing was mentioned in the ad regarding this. Chelsea agreed it would be fixed. After a 9 day wait and 2 last minute phone calls delaying the pick up, due to waiting on parts, I picked the van up after being told it was fixed. When leaving the forecourt I tried the stalk. Nothing happened. So I tried the green button instead. Low and behold the button still worked and the stalk hadn't been touched.

I had to continue home due to work but once home I also realised the bottom front fog lights had been removed without my consent.
After a couple of emails and frankly a lack of interest it got booked in and the stalk replaced, but nothing done about the fog lights. I did actually say I'll buy some myself but was reassured they would send them, along with the fog light caps that they supposedly ordered.

I've chased it up a number of times and have been promised they're on order, though I doubt it. The communication seems uninterested and a little blunt from Chelsea.

SMV is about an hour from mine, so I've wasted roughly 2 half days going back and forth, and there's not even been an apology.

I paid in cash so my only assumption is that once they get the money they lose interest in the customer.

I would not recommend this place.

They lie & the communication is poor. Keep the fog lights. I'll buy my own as first suggested.

Recently bought a new MAN TGE from SMV Commercials which is destined to be a campervan. From start to finish the service I received from the sales advisor, Mike Bull and colleagues was exemplary.
I’ve bought many cars and vans over the years and I can honestly say this was the best customer dealer experience I have had.
A very competitive price matched with great customer service, this is a company I would highly recommend.

After what was seemingly a fantastic service. Turns out after being advised that we needed a refurbished engine due to seizure and paying out £11,500 only to find after a month or so the problem returned and the response you get is "I fail to see how the replacement of a seized engine can be deemed unjustified?" well mate... it would seem that your technicians FAILED to connect a number of parts and at least one of those parts had caused the starter to burn out! you have been sent the bill £480 ish, but apparently your phones or email responses do not work so much now?

Update: Thank you to someone at SMV! the invoice as been paid. We would therefore like to improve the rating as we feel the initial service was fantastic, it is a shame, we understand things happen, but radio silence when a customer is upset or unhappy and/or not giving you full attention is really not great. This is a company vehicle and we had to hire a vehicle for a number of days to complete deliveries for our own customers. Massive inconvenience and would of been great to have had more suggestion to assist rather than having to outsource help only to find the issues were caused due to part that a technician had forgotten to attached on what was to us a very large outlay for a repair.
