Looked good before we had ago. Staff were ok but the boats were impossible to drive. Steering was rubbish, couldn’t wait to get off. Definitely wouldn’t go on them again. Boats were also breaking down and have to be towed back. Obviously the boats aren’t maintained properly.

Myself, wife, sons (17 and 9) took a boat out and it was really good fun. The guy at the desk said we'd need to wait for a boat to return as they were all out so we did...less than 10 mins so no big deal. We sat in the back with kids in front. The 17 year old took us right to the end and round the island. The 9 year old brought us back. Its quite a long trip so worth the money and through a few tunnels and under the pier. It's not easy to steer a boat but they got the hang of it quickly. Good family fun and a happy memory for a few quid each.

Where to begin with this gem? A good 10 minutes of sheer joy from start to finish, floating along on the sort of fetid water you don't allow your children to touch for fear of needing hospital care.

Highlights include a couple of really gorgeous skips, one with some charming artwork. Also spotted the loveliest Premier Inn I've ever seen, with accompanying car park. And what a delight to see a couple of Monster cans bobbing alongside our craft. So wonderful to spot them in the wild. Another bonus was a dumped duvet as we floated under a superbly rusted bridge. Simply stunning.

Sadly, part of the route seemed to be blocked off, which would explain why the promised 20-25 minute trip was only about 10 minutes in total. But what a magical 10 minutes they were, and only £16 (no Scottish notes please!) for the privilege.

Attached photo does not do the experience justice.

Not very obvious when you walk past, but bought our tickets for £10 in the Aquarium across the road. There is a ticket office at the mini port which also sells tickets for the crazy golf next door. The boats are really fun and have bad steering-sending you all over the place until you get the hang of it. They move quite slowly and are something different to the usual rides offered. We had lots of laughs.

Absolutely hilarious but, as another review says, for all the wrong reasons. Boats impossible to steer as you meander along on the litter filled water past skips, genital graffiti (or as my young son shouted "scissors!") and the back of industrial buildings whilst trying to avoid mowing into ducklings or other impossible to steer boats. To be totally fair though, I don't think we've had quite as much of a giggle at any other point of this holiday, we were howling with laughter by the end and the staff were very friendly and helpful when we lost a wallet.

Great fun for the family and fairly well priced at £14. The river journey takes you along the side of the fair as far as the premier Inn and then back on yourself. Not the most scenic of rides but definitely worth the adventure.
