The exhibition is very interesting and definitely worth going to understand it's national significance as well as learn more about iron buildings, malting and flax industry and second world war.
Thoughtful references to industrial standards and fair trade for workers today.
We didn't do guided tour or tower tour.
The cafe is planted based so good for those with allergies, vegan preferences but also to have cuppa after looking round.

We had a lot of fun. We took 3 teenagers with us, there was a lot of reading but the interactive features were really good. Sadly we couldn't visit the cafe as it was packed! Most likely a good sign. Parking was easy to find, although the signs could have been a little bigger. Plus the day we went the kids were free and there was a science workshop on for the kids. Really good.

An interesting insight into past industrial heritage but I found the interpretive space lacking in detail and the audio-visual presentation was just light and noise, it would have been more meaningful with some explanation. The cafe is nice but over emphasis on vegan food in my opinion. Despite the size of the building only the cafe and exhibition space is open so no real experience of the size and scale of industrial past.

Interesting and unusual historic building. Excellent cafe and free parking. Free to visit cafe, and outside, but would recommend paying to see the exhibition.

Will return to try the two guided tours

A fascinating well presented historic building that has been 75% carefully restored since it was on the edge of total destruction. It has a 20 year tythe on the historic tours currently being run but is being converted into office accomodation. What you get when you book online is not made totally clear. The signage on the approach, the parking and throughout the buildings and cafe is far too small - I needed a magnifying glass to read directions to anywhere - I guess this is driven by being made into commercial acco.odation and wanting to be subtle on the visitor signage! The tour was 1 1/2 hrs and was interesting and thorough, the tour guides were both terrific as were all the other staff we came into contact with. All were as helpful as you could possibly expect. The cafe requires a mention as it is outstanding with a great range of gluten free food and the food was tasty and the staff great. All in all we had a great visit which we thoroughly enjoyed and would heartily recommend it to others.

The museum was interesting and the behind the scenes tour was excellent. It was interesting to learn the history of the building and the surrounding landscape, and how time and the fortunes of the owners and the building itself changed. There should be more to see over time as other buildings are renovated at the site. However commercial concerns needed to fund the project for the future may restrict some of the behind the scenes areas we saw as they become used for offices etc.

We did a tour of the facility. It was very good. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained things extremely well. We are now looking to book the jubilee tour of the main Tower.
