Visited as part of an experience day, extremely glad I did. The staff were very friendly and more than willing to impart knowledge and teach. After spending 40 minutes driving the train I could not stop the ear to ear grin beaming across my face. Travelled from London the sherwood and it was more than worth it.

We had the most wonderful time at Sherwood Forest Railway this weekend. We were greeted by an elf at check in and at the train. We had a lovely ride out on the steam train and once back at the station enjoyed a hot drink with a mince pie while our daughter played on the park while we waited for Santa (who was awesome). Excellent value for money - we would love to book again next year!

Super place. Had a steam engine driver experience bought for me as a birthday present. Attended yesterday and great time. Lovely folks. Pete showed me the ropes and I had a great time. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Just a lovely miniature railway where you can experience the steam engine and the whistle. A short journey to a picnic area and soon the railway is expanding so it will be a circular route.
Fun for all the family and great entertainment at the starting.point wit bouncy castle, coffee, ice-cream and playgrounds separated in ages. A zip line for the older ones..
Dogs welcome.but always on a lead.

Fab little place with lots of fun for a few hours out. I’ve lived fairly locally for years and never been here before but my daughter loved it. Neither of us are train enthusiasts but it was great fun riding on a real miniature steam train. The ride was fairly short but I believe there are plans to extend the track. Nice little playground areas, lovely on site hot food and clean toilets. Will visit again.

Loved the experience of the slow train going between the green fields.. it is a shirt ride which is cute.. the instructor was friendly and made the kids pull the train whistle .. the price was low and there was a big play area with so many varieties for free, like bikes, zipline, big slides.. later on, we played with control-boats for a £1 and watched the fish in the pool and birds on the tree .. finally we ate some ice-cream from the shop! My children enjoyed it alot and staff were very friendly .. a great 2 hour trip if u ask me

Would highly recommend a trip here with the family for a cheap day out. Free parking, free play area, and delightful miniature railway you can ride on. Look out for all the decoration along the track.
We stopped at the other end of the track for a picnic as it was peaceful and surrounded by the lovely countryside and a few cows.
Lovely little shop selling train tickets, train toys/gifts and refreshments.
Staff were so friendly and especially good with my 3 year old.
Toilets were immaculate and had fold down changing table.
There are also plans to extend the length of the train track. We will definitely visit again.
