Mid week stay at Sherwood Castle. Booked a two-bedroom lodge with a hot tub, which was clean and comfortable. Lovely hot tub which was clean and checked by staff each morning we were there. Great location with plenty to go out and explore. Great for dogs walks. Would definitely look to return in the warmer/drier months and do more exploring of the area with the pooch.

Stayed on park a few times with family, staff lovely, lodges are clean well kept & the comfiest beds we’ve ever slept in! Hot tubs are always hot for arrival, clean and maintained throughout the stay. Our favourite lodges are the retreats with day bed 65inch tv & hot tub all under cover. Will definitely return and recommend!

Fantastic break! Cabins perfect, clean well equipped and really toasty with radiators and of course the log burner (be careful wear the glove!) which was fun. Managed to check in a few hours early thanks to helpful staff. Hot tub cleaned for our arrival with fresh water and was great to use. Location is perfect for what we wanted to feel like you are away from it all. We had a walk to a pub for lunch at the Rose Cottage pub (great too) and in to Edwinstowe after for a few drinks, if you do want to go out. Overall we loved it and sad to leave!

As a family we have had 3 holidays at Sherwood which was absolutely amazing. We have stayed in 3 of the newly refurbished lodges that had been turned into secret retreats! Omg we never wanted to leave and stayed in our dressing gowns all weekend!
We have also stayed with friends on the pondside right at the front of the site. This is lit up at night and is so relaxing.
Sherwood is definitely out favorite park. There is so much for children including a private swim session for each booking. My boys enjoyed the bowling, tennis, pool table and mini golf.

Had a weekend here with friends. The park is lovely and clean. It's also very peaceful with ample parking. Hot tubs are fine. The negatives are very poorly equipped ie no knives, very few trays or pans to cook with. There's no bar or restaurant on site so you'll need to go into the local town. All in though we really liked the place and had a really good time.

4 Adults in our party, we went to the secret retreat lodge. The lodge is compact and is really equipped for 2 of the occupants being children as there were no bedside lights or mirrors in the twin room which shares a wall with the secret retreat so would make it easy to hear children if you were in the hot tub after they were in bed , it was clean and comfortable. It has a log burner, logs and kindling were not supplied, a convector heater and small oil filled radiator were also supplied which kept us nice and snug, there is a fridge, a cooker with grill, a kettle, a toaster and a dishwasher and a small amount of coffee, tea, sugar. etc are supplied. there is no Wi-Fi and my daughter struggled on site to get enough phone signal for the sat nav. We found it nice and quiet and happily listened to the birdsong and watched the squirrels scampering about. The secret retreat was great with lots of space, a small fridge, nice colourful lights and the hot tub was a good size for 4 adults although with all of us in we were close to the water overflowing, (3 of us are generously sized). The roads on site are car width and meandering but the speed limit is 5mph and the parking space is beside the lodge generous and well signed, we had no problems although I could see some uneven surfaces which pushchairs etc might have to avoid. The swimming pool was nice and having it available just for your party for half an hour each day at no extra cost was great, it is not huge and is 5'4" at its deep end, it is cool but not cold and the attached jacuzzi is the same temperature with jets. I am mobility impaired but managed the built in steps with no problems. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend it

The good bits- hot tub was hot! Lodge was surface clean and plenty of crockery etc which were all clean so didn’t need putting through dishwasher before use. Clean bedding and towels. Lodge situated in nice spot lakeside. Heating adequate. |Bad bits - Mattresses need replacing -uncomfortable. Lodge quite dark and dismal. Tablecloth needs replacing as ripped. Absolutely nothing like any of the pictures displayed by wowcher website so don’t be fooled. The lodge was very dated and shabby. Cost was £299 plus fee of £35 for two nights and slept six people and given everything was definitely not value for money. |Staff were not particularly welcoming or engaging. We were a little early so sat in the cold reception area whilst awaiting cleaning of the lodge to be completed. The reception set up in the wooden castle is weird and very cold. Child’s play area was all made from wood and not particularly engaging with tots area having very little in it. Tbh the whole set up was laughable particularly the mini golf! Site really didn’t offer much and animal corner consisted of two cockerels a handful of sheep and a couple of goats. |Access to the site isn’t great either having to do a rather sharp and unexpected left off the main road and then down a very bad bumpy and rough lane to gain access to the site entrance. Negotiating this in the dark was not easy by one of our party. |There are definitely better places to go. Shall not be returning!

We had a great time with 2 adults and 2 13 year old girls and a dog. The lodge was clean and functional, the decking area and hot tub was great.
Swimming, badminton, tennis, crazy golf, play parks etc. are all free. The girls swam every day and loved the pool.
The location is excellent, shops, pubs etc. all close by. The woodland is exceptional, the dog had a great time.
We all had a fun and relaxing week. Go-Ape is very close as are many other Sherwood attractions.
We paid £750 for a week for a lodge with hot tub in the middle of August. It was worth every penny.
Yes, there are certain parts looking a bit tired but I met the new owner and he explained the improvements they are making. The swimming pool area should all be updated for next year and they are adding covered secret garden areas to the lodges, plus a general update of some of the original features.
We will definitely be returning next year.
