Google would direct you across the river with the ferry but fail to mention the "toll", so it was a shock for us to realise we have to pay to cross, and it wasn't cheap either, it was £5.5 return per person. This is really about Google not realise you may have to pay to cross for pedestrian.

The long way around is very long. There really isn't much option.

The ferrymen were nice, it an extremely short hop, so not like a long ferry to enjoy the drifting and floating. Anyway, it does the job.

Pay on ferry or pay at the shop. Supposedly push bike does free with pedestrians. We went before Autumn properly sets in, so there was still ferry for weekday, supposedly it only runs on weekends in winter.

A very friendly service which is great if you are walking the Thames path or just want to cross the river. We were there before 9 and he came across to collect us. Its a very short crossing of less than a minute.

Handy little ferry that takes pedestrians between Shepperton and Weybridge for a small fee. It is the only public way to cross the river in the areas between Chertsey and Walton bridges.

Handy ferry crossing to get from Weybridge to Shepperton Lock. A return ticket for 2 adults and 2 children cost £10. We only had to wait a few minutes for the ferry on both legs - and the operator was very friendly.

A little disappointed as we went to use this today, only to manage to catch the last trip over even though it wasn't due to close for another hour!

We were lucky the chap driving was lovely and said he would take us but we were told his boss had called and told him to close an hour early.

I really think that's quite poor, because had we been 5 minutes later we would not have had any means to get home with a 3 month old. It seems the boat might be under new management and they are trying to cut costs but this is a public service to join up the Thames path and they should honour their opening times or update them.

2 stars only because the driver was such a wonderful chap and really friendly.

My husband and I bought tickets today to cross in the ferry from Shepperton to Weybridge. We checked their website to see how often the ferry was and it said every 15 minutes. We bought 2 return tickets at £5 each which we thought was an outrageous price for such a short crossing. However after waiting almost 25 minutes and ringing the bell three times there was no sign of anybody to take us. We got a refund and won’t be trying this ferry again. If you want a reliable ferry across the Thames when you are in Twickenham you will not be let down as we were in Shepperton, and the price is £1 each for a one way crossing.

A small, helpful and friendly ferry service. Bicycles can be taken across with you for an additional fee. When I crossed it was £2 for me and £2 for the bike. Tickets can be purchased in the cafe on the corner, where you may find the captain having a cup of tea between trips. A great and fun way to start cycling the river Wey!
