Visited on Monday 28 July 2025, and great to see that the SVR had reopened fully just 3 days earlier following the landslip that occurred at the end of January. An absolute pleasure to see the arrival of the Flying Scotsman; what a beauty, and a credit to all those who maintain it.

The Railwayman’s Arms pub was also open for the occasion; a great beer selection and a super friendly barman. A lovely, well-appointed building with great memorabilia.

The station itself is also well maintained and most of the staff are great. I did, however, get very rudely shouted at by a volunteer platform member for accidentally ‘overstepping’ a tape line that was actually missing. No need for overbearing, abusive behaviour in this day-and-age. I decided not to make an issue of it, but he shouldn’t be dealing with the public.

Great station and a very good bridge, it also has a gift shop with a small miniature train on display and other train type stuff. The railway is definitely worth a good visit. The network has quite a lot of stops too.

Pleasant steam railway journey. All of the stations along the route are nicely themed and decorated a lot better than most. You get a good view of the West Midlands safari park along the route so you get to see some animals too. Just be sure to double check group booking. The time given to us for the steam train was wrong so actually missed out on do everything that day.

Lovely heritage railway station with old fashioned booking room/building. No charge for justing the station and watching the steam and diesel trains which run 16 miles to kidderminster.also has tea room but did not visit that.
There is parking at and by the station but not sure of prices as did not park there.

Absolutely superb, what these guys have achieved on this heritage line is truly amazing.
Although we live 90miles away visiting the SVR has become a new hobby, we regularly stay in Bridgnorth and visit the Railway each time especially for the galas and other special events.

Not going to lie here I love the SVR. I love all the station along the way and Bridgnorth is no exception here. It’s like stepping back in time to age that I still yearn for. Everything is as it was in times gone by. The staff, bar, trains just everything is excellent. Want a day out this is it. You’ll love it. Worth every single penny.
