Secret Atlas and the crew of Freya made for an unforgettable experience. Secret Atlas made a perfect pairing in our two guides, one a naturalist and the other a geologist. The sheer breadth of knowledge between these two is astounding. The owner of the Freya assembled a spectacular crew of personable and welcoming individuals who operate as a team to keep the passengers cosseted in the finest traditions of the great cruise lines while still welcoming us into their home as honored guests. One extraordinary example of this is the open bridge policy in which passengers are not just allowed onto the bridge but warmly welcomed. The crew, guides, and guests all sought out to leave the places we visited better than we found them. With the assistance of the crew we were able to remove several hundred pounds of fishing industry detritus off the landing sites.

Without exception the crew were more than welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. And as for the two guides, they went above and beyond to make this trip such a stunning experience. Just returned from a 10-day micro expedition in Svalbard with Secret Atlas—easily one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken. With the smaller ship, we had access to incredible landscapes, the wildlife sightings were unforgettable (including seeing polar bears!). The team onboard MV Vikingfjord were incredible. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and respectful of the environment, they made the whole experience feel personal and purposeful. I would highly recommend Secret Atlas for an unforgettable experience!

To discover the polar regions with such a small group is such a unique experience. Secret atlas offers a once in a lifetime experience! The journey we took with Secret Atlas to Svalbard has been magical. The expedition staff has shown us this remote territory with dedication and commitment to understand all aspects of the wildlife present in this area of the planet. The travel model Secret Atlas present my wife and I is undoubtedly the best option for sailing through Spitsbergen. We were 9 passengers on board Kinfish, a small comfortable ship, allowing us to reach places even more remote than the normal ones. Carrying two Zodiacs on board is a privilege as it gives got enough space and time for our pictures and also for contemplation.

Choosing the Micro Cruising as the way to explore, was absolutely the best decision. We got beautiful intimacy with the environment and wildlife having a very deep life experience. Great work Secret Atlas and team.

My journey with Secret Atlas around Svalbard was truly extraordinary. Aboard a small ship with just ten of us, it felt like a private adventure shared with family. The intimacy of the group allowed us to experience the Arctic in a deeply personal way, from witnessing polar bears hunting to spotting walruses, puffins, whales, dolphins, and seals. Every day was filled with awe-inspiring wildlife encounters. The atmosphere on the ship was warm and welcoming, making it feel like home on the open sea. This unforgettable trip is one I’ll cherish forever.

Secret Atlas provides the trip of a lifetime. If you are looking for a cruise that only has a small number of people (12 max) then this is a trip you can't go past. Our trip was on the East Coast of Greenland to Scoresby Sund. The expedition ship is large and very comfortable. The crew are experienced and professional and safety is always paramount. Our days were full with onshore expeditions and zodiac tours. Each evening we attended a well presented lecture about many aspects of Greenland that were interesting and informative. The meals were excellent and the chef catered for dietary needs very well. The cabins were extremely comfortable.
Our guides for the duration of the trip were a major highlight and gave their all to making sure we experienced the very essence of Scoresby Sund. The Captain and Chief Mate always welcomed us to the bridge and imparted so much of their experiences. The crew were delightful and always happy.
We will definitely be going on another Secret Atlas trip.
