We loved this site. Very well maintained with a mix of hard standing and grass touring pitches. We had a grass pitch with plenty of space for our 2 dogs. |Location of this site is fantastic, 2 minutes from the beach at Charmouth and 5-10 mins into the village centre. There is a nisa/co-op shop in Charmouth and 2 pubs. We are twice at the Royal Oak and the food there is excellent. |The showers and toilets on site are very clean. A river runs along the edge of the site, trees line the river and there are ducks to feed if you’d like to. Very pretty surroundings. |We will definitely be back to this site.

Spent 3 nights, would have been more but for other commitments.|One of the best sites we have ever been to.|From checking in to checking out, staff are very friendly, shop adequately stocked, site beautifully kept, grassed areas like a bowling green, facilities spotless, pitches large.|The site is perfectly situated with access to the beach, perfect for all ages and dogs.|Lots of outdoor activities in a separate area if that’s your thing.|Gravel and grass pitches available.|Visiting food trucks a couple of times a week.|Two pubs in close proximity, food, drinks and outdoor area in ‘The George’ particularly lovely. Didn’t try the other pub.|Buses hourly with bus stops also in close proximity.|Overall we will definitely be planning lots of return visits to Seadown.|Not one negative to be found.

We really enjoyed our stay at Seadown. The Shower/toilet facilities are superb- hotel room level facilities with plenty of hot water. The location is great- few minutes walk along a river brings you out at Charmouth beach, great for our canoeing trips. The small town of Charmouth is only 5minutes walk away, and the local shops had everything we needed- don't miss the little bakery down a side road- amazing cakes! Will definitely be returning!

“A Disappointing Return to a Place Close to My Heart”

I don’t take writing negative reviews lightly and fully appreciate how they can impact a business. However, after giving it considerable thought, I feel compelled to call out the poor attitude and lack of hospitality we experienced from some of the staff at Seadown Caravan Park.

Having spent much of my childhood holidaying at this site, I was genuinely excited to return—this time with my daughter and her friends. Sadly, that sense of nostalgia was quickly dampened when we arrived after a long drive, only to be met with a surprisingly unfriendly welcome. While I completely understand that everyone has off days, the tone and attitude we encountered at check-in were, frankly, extraordinary.

Admittedly, I had missed the rather unusual request for payment in cash upon arrival. This in itself isn’t my complaint—how the site chooses to take payment is up to them (though I suspect @HMRC may have more interest in that than I do). What concerned me was the complete lack of empathy from the lady on reception. Despite our clear intention to pay, she went as far as to pull the keys back from my hand, as if we were attempting to avoid payment m. At no point did we refuse to pay—we were simply trying to navigate how to access £1,000 in cash in rural Dorset on a late Friday afternoon.

Eventually, we managed to gather the cash, pay in full, and receive the keys. We gave constructive feedback with our concerns about the unwelcoming attitude at the time, but unfortunately, they were met with quite a defensive response.

So I’m writing this review for two reasons:

1. In the hope that Seadown Caravan Park takes this feedback seriously and considers investing in improved customer service and hospitality training.

2. To advise others looking for a friendly, welcoming holiday experience that they may want to explore other options.

That said, I genuinely believe this site has so much potential. The park itself is pristine, and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning. If the team can deliver the same level of care to their guests as they do to the grounds, this place could truly shine.

It’s just a shame that first impressions last—my golden childhood memories will remain, but sadly, this visit won’t be among them.

Another brilliant stay at Seadown. An immaculate site and lovely wardens and maintenance men. We locked ourselves out of our motorhome and one of the men helped me push my husband up through a storage opening to enter the motorhome. Lots of open space with table tennis, tennis, badminton and lovely walk through the park to the seafront where you can search for fossils and washed, coloured glass. Bus stop only a few yards away which we used for trips to Lyme Regis and Bridport. Would highly recommend.

This is a lovely clean site. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We normally have one of their caravans but we camped this year. The only downside I've come up with is the lack of disabled facilities. They could do with a family or disabled bathroom and the access to the shop could do with some attention.

Fantastic place to go, absolutely love the site and the staff are super friendly. We booked at the last minute and were able get a great spot. The amenities are clean and excellently maintained. Hey if it’s good enough for a star of Emmerdale it’s definitely good enough for me! I can’t wait to come back!

Superb campsite. We were in the touring part, lovely toilet and shower block, always kept spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Right on the beach, outstanding location.
