The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to help. The food is great and reasonably priced as are the drinks. Yes the hotel is dated but that is part of its charm. We stayed for 2 nights between Xmas and New Year and brought the dog. We enjoyed it that much we are looking to do the same next year.

Great start for the C2C. The main buildings are a little dated, but our room had been recently refinished and was modern and very comfortable. Dinner was nice, but HUGE portion. Breakfast was uninspiring but for the price no complaints. Only given 4 stars as so many of the other places on the way were so good, but this was a perfect place to start the C2C, was great value for money, and would definitely stay again

Not a bad hotel overall and its obvious from walking down the corridors that money has been spent here. still rough edges but thats true of any hotel. The hotel kindly called when I was enroute to as if i would be dining there. Nice touch. Shame the bed was soft and saggy on one side and i felt like i was rolling out of bed but overall a nice stay

The atmosphere was welcoming. The room was excellent and comfortable. The full English breakfast was worth it. The full service restaurant was also excellent with many great choices. Their sticky toffee pudding ranked among the best. Great view from the window too! Add to that the coastal walk and the cliff walk. I would definitely go back again!

I visited for one night to attend a function at the hotel. Great location overlooking the beach at St Bees. Friendly welcome from staff at reception. Breakfast offered a good choice. I only wanted eggs on toast, not a Full English & was able to have that with coffee & juice as a small breakfast after the helpful staff checked it was OK. Some of the bar staff & those serving at the function were rather grumpy but didn't detract from an enjoyable evening catching up with friends

We had a great stay at the Seacote. We were arriving toward the end of dinner service so they called us so we could preorder. We got warm welcome and the cauliflower and chickpea curry was delicious. We had a great room with a sea view. Fantastic value and the perfect start to our coast to coast walk.

Had a great stay , despite a bit of a travel issue we ended up not getting to the hotel til 0100ish the staff were nothing but accommodating to this. The location was amazing right off a beach and I had a view of the sea also various places to walk right out of the hotel. The hotel is aged but I think it adds to character and sets it away from big chains. It was clean and tidy everywhere I went which is all you hope for when staying places. Food in the resurant was nice homemade meals and just the perfect size. Staff were friendly and chatty.

The Seacote is a home from home and has been for 54 years of my life. They understand my lifelong connection to St Bees and treat us like family every time we visit. I can't recommend this place enough but you do need to remember that you're in west Cumbria and things won't be the same as you may be used to. Well done again lovely people x
