Very rude lady behind the till for no apparent reason, was just returning a parcel. She was literally slamming and throwing things around funny enough I was the only customer there. Will definitely go out of my way to not come to this post office.

I’m so upset, my sister and I received pounds for our birthday and we exchanged them for our foreign currency which is ZAR South African rands. They severely underpaid us, they claimed the exchange rate was 21 pounds to the rand when it was actually 24, and I queried this only to be shut down. I’ve done some research and I am correct about the difference in exchange rate - am I missing something here or have we just been extremely ripped off? Please advise me on what to do now.

Truly terrible rude miserable ladies behind the counter!! Never a smile!! I avoid visiting whenever possible. I travel to Biggleswade PO just so that I don’t have to experience their awful service. If you ask them anything politely, it is met with rudeness from them. I have a good savings account with the PO but nope, makes no difference, still receive rude service. No extra care given to my very elderly mother either when she needs to make any transactions. My account (and hers) will be closing due to my recent visit there. Why are they so awful?… it doesn’t take much to smile at customers and be helpful!

Attempted to return an Evri parcel today, but hadn't attached the label to the parcel.

I think Evri provide various ways of sending the parcel, where some places scan a code/print a label etc. At the time of printing the label, I didn't yet know how I would be returning it. But I figured, I'll print the label now, and if it does need to be attached, then surely a helpful member of staff would be able to do that.

Unfortunately, I visited Sandy Post Office to return my parcel, where the woman there must have been having an incredibly bad day. When she informed me that it had to be attached, I asked if they had any tape to do that, and she feigned looking around, shook her head and in an exasperated tone, presumably at the thought of being helpful to the only customer in the store, said "we sell it" and pointed to it on the shelf.

Cool. I have tape at home. I just wanted to quickly send a parcel. I left the store. In the future, I'll use a locker, and won't be greeted by the friendly human, and in the future, she'll wonder how it was that machines managed to take her job.

Edit reply to owner:

The time spent justifying this certainly cost more than having some tape behind the counter.

Came here to post an item on a Saturday morning, had to queue for 15 mins which I expected as it was a busy time to come.

Got to the front of the queue to be greeted by a horrible woman. We put the parcel on the scales and the woman angrily said “what are we doing here?!? You can’t just put the parcel on the scales and not tell me why”, hmm I wonder what we’re doing with a parcel at a post office I thought 🤔

will give my business to Evri now, more convenient and no horrible woman to deal with.

I renewed my driving licence there this morning and the service, help, and understanding was absolutely brilliant. I suffer a number of mental illnesses that make it difficult to go out, but I needn't have worried. They were fantastic.
