Had an amazing week with salty sailing. Our instructor was always up for a laugh but serious in the right moments. Couldn’t imagine doing it anywhere else, very educational day and night sails with very fun downtime as well. My highlight was definitely pilotage and using the almanac, never a dull moment.

I've done a yacht refresher and my day-skipper practical with Salty Sailing and I can't recommend them highly enough. Hugo is an excellent instructor. From the moment you arrive you feel part of a crew and the emphasis is very much on working together to achieve your goals and have great fun along the way. As with all good sailors Hugo is adept at adapting to the conditions and you'll feel both safe and challenged no matter what previous experience you have or what the sea has in store that day! Having had a less than pleasant experience with another company, Salty Sailing restored both my confidence and my love of being on the water, and I'll be booking more trips with them in 2025.

A gem of a little company. Hugo and his team are different gravy. Ive done three courses with him / them So Far and cant recommend them highly enough. I will 100% be continuing my education with them.
Teaching style is great.
Atmosphere is kind and caring yet with strength if and when needed.
Clear and concise instructions while allowing one to learn from their mistakes because of practice and good communication.
Boat is in tip top shape and clearly looked after with love.

Incredible work from the whole team at Salty Sailing, 2 out of 2 passes for Yachtmaster! Incredible teaching, great food and slept comfortably on board. I felt safe for the entire week and can recommend this school to everyone at any stage of their sailing life!

A Brilliant Experience with Hugo, Highly Recommended Skipper

It was late January when we noticed that the weekend's weather was expected to be unusually pleasant. With only a few days' notice, we contacted Hugo to see if he could take us out for a day sail. To our delight, he responded promptly and enthusiastically, saying that it was a great idea and that the weather looked lovely.

Hugo was a true professional throughout the trip. The boat was in excellent condition, and we were perfectly located in the heart of Cowes. He made us feel safe and comfortable, and we had an unforgettable experience.
