Absolutely shockingly bad company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! ZERO STARS. Cottages.com and Salcombe Holiday Homes

We were told via a phone call 2 HOURS before we were due to check in to our holiday cottage that this inept company had double booked it and we were unable to go on our holiday. The car was packed, we were on our way with our toddler and me 7 months pregnant with NOWHERE to stay. No apology from the lady on the phone. Me calling other holiday agencies in tears to see if we could find any other accommodation. The WORST holiday experience ever. Reading other reviews it seems we are not alone with double bookings appearing to be commonplace. To add insult to injury 3 weeks later we still haven’t received a refund for our accommodation that THEY cancelled. They do not answer the phone so there is no way to contact them. We will be seeking legal advice and seeing cottages.com, salcombe holiday homes. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES!!!!!

We have been using Salcombe Holiday Homes for 18 years and we find them excellent. We have had fridges and kettle brake down in different properties. They are very quickly replaced.

Salcombe holiday homes were very good and responding very quickly with our problems.unfortunately the owner of flat 2 Stonehanger Hibbert Road Salcombe did not although I have read there is a 24 hour rule with complaints.Broken cooker broken dishwasher and ants crawling all over the lounge floor and coffee table with twin girls of five not much fun.But she waited till we had left to replace! Needless to say not a holiday home I would recommend.
