A really good walk with the dogs.
A great walk along a concrete path from one car park to another. It’s 8km in total and very accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Apart from the odd sheep, it’s a great place to let the dogs off as they can run around in lots of open space.
There is a cafe at both ends which is always a bonus.
There are lots of bikes but generally everyone is very courteous.
Parking is £4 for 4 hours, and it’s cash, or contactless.
The downside is lots of dog poo…so watch out if your little ones run in the grass around the car park area especially.

Rutland waters have always been pleasurable getaway from everyday busy life. Calm beautiful lake with huge car park, cafés, public toilets and plenty of bins located convincingly everywhere. Can easily spend a nice day out with friends and family, on a good sunny day, you can even get a boat ride too. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view of open landscapes and country side air. Always peaceful and quiet, it can get a little busy during summer times but plenty of space for everyone to relax.. Well maintained overall! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to just relax and get away for a day!

Cafes could be better. Visited the Whitwell cycle shop. Cafe next door to it was shut, so we walked a little way to the next cade (Lakeside cafe). Got there at 3.30 sharp, but kitchen already shut up shop and only cake and drinks. Cafe is meant to close at 4pm. So disappointing. The water is stunning though.

Great place for a relaxing afternoon. Boat rides, cycling or just taking a relaxing walk around this huge park.
Play area for little ones and also great for picnics.
Parking was easy, but found it expensive.
Well maintained and clean.

We did kayaking, which was a fun experience. Staff were friendly enough, and we were able to safely store our car keys with the receptionist while we were out on the water. The wetsuits they provided were not completely dry, making them cold in spots and uncomfortable to put on.

I would recommend this experience.

First time we came here and the prices are not what they shown on the internet. We hired a row boat (35£- 1h) and even my dog was allowed to climb in. With his cute tiny life vest. Its fairly expensive but for one time it's worth it.

Me and a mate stopped here for a coffee while on a motorbike ride out. £3.30 for a coffee in the lake side cafe was ok. But parking, can't think of anywhere I've ever been before where motorbike pay to park. We stopped for 1 coffee, and we parked in one carpark space. Machine said we had been there over an hour. So the charge was £4 each. So £14.60 in total. To all motorcycles out there, avoid this place like the plague, an absolute rip-off.
