Parking is £5 I think unless you're an RSPB member, but you can be cheeky and park outside on a muddy verge if you want to avoid that.

The walks are lovely and the views across the channel are always nice. The cafe is pleasant but expensive, but facilities are very well maintained and the whole site is clearly cared for.

There is no longer a children's play area which I think is a real shame as although most kids like a wander around that would clearly be enhanced by a good play park.

Don't expect to see lots of wildlife as the ponds are largely devoid of anything interesting anywhere near the paths and you'd need binoculars on most occasions to see anything of note. The same goes for photography, take a very long lens.

Having said all that, the paths are flat, well maintained and you can loop back in many different ways so it's always a pleasant place for a stroll.

Lovely place to visit with a good cafe with fantastic views of the wetlands. There's outside seating areas as well as if the weather is good. Nice selection of both food and drinks at reasonable prices. Toilets off the cafe and visitor centre which are excellent. Information about the wetlands is available from knowledgeable staff.

This is a lovely little visitor centre for the stunning surrounding wetlands. They have a café and nice parking at a very reasonable price.

Most of the staff was really friendly too, with the notable exception being the woman who got passive aggressive with us when I told her why I am not an RSPB member after she pressed me on why we don't want to sign up. She was pretty rude.

(I told her I was a student making under minimum wage, so I'm not able to support right now, to which she condescendingly stated she joined when she was unemployed - good for her. For me £5 a month is a lot right now, and I think we should all be kinder in the current state of the world 🙂 )

Always love visiting here, especially as it's so close to city life. It's brilliant for going to enjoy birdwatching or just for a walk. Some go there for a gentle cycle ride or to walk their dogs. Either way, for a small parking fee of £4.00, it's totally worth the visit. Especially for the educational value alone

A little gem of a place. We didn't particularly see much wildlife but a nice walk, it's quiet, the facilities were good. Not bad for only £4 for parking.
