I spent a very enjoyable afternoon at RSPB Fowlmere, friends had told me about it previously.
Very impressed with numerous trails, a picnic area, toilet facilities and a small visitor centre. I particularly liked the various hides around the reserve, for viewing / photographing the wildlife.
I saw Marsh Harriers, water rail, juvenile Moorhens, long tailed tit's and heard many more. In the river (Shep) I saw brown trout and crayfish.
Definitely worth a visit for a peaceful and tranquil experience.

OK, lots of Fauna and good level walkways, but on this occasion no birds, also the mere was drained of water, will have to revisit. Toilets very basic and no other amenities, ok for a walk and getting out doors.

Fantastic place to visit. Limited parking up to about 30 cars. 3 bird hides and a lovely flowing chalk stream.. Great for birding and wildlife photograph. Rspb members parting is free put your Rspb membership card on display and non members i think its around ÂŖ2. 00 to park. No dogs are permitted unless guide dog. Flat pathways ok for wheelchair. Will definitely be going back.

Very nice walk at the beginning of the spring. If you do it slowly, stopping at every hide for taking photos it would take you like 1 hour to complete the loop. There are a lot of birds like ducks, herons, swans and geese. I also saw some deer and some songbirds.

Peaceful reserve, lots of shade for a hot day. Be aware the car park was quite busy when we attended, seemed to free up but may be a small wait to park.

Great little nature reserve with a nice circular walk around it. A few bird hides for those who enjoy spotting. Some deer in the grounds too but we never saw any.
ÂŖ2 parking by app or donation which is reasonable as its free entry. Helpful staff at the visitor entrance hut telling you what and where to look for the birds.
Great just to get outside for a bit of a stroll.
