At first it looks a little spartan - there's nothing here apart from the pier, but then you realise the nearby Heritage Centre is the waiting room and has toilets. You need to reverse onto the ferry, but it's not too hard.

Friendly ferry port with covered waiting room. Don't forget you'll need to reverse your car backwards onto the ferry. The tourists are easy to spot, those are the ones parked facing the ferry ramp!

Easy to book a return ticket on the ferry by calling the number. Times all on the Website for Orkney Ferries.
Didn't park in the carpark as took our car over to Rousay. Can stay in your car for the 25 minutes journey which was a bonus for us as we traveled with our dog.
Prices were reasonable for 3 passengers & a car plus return journey ...just over £30.00.

Better than the Tingwall version as the waiting room and toilets are in the heritage centre, so there are seats, light and heat here too. It is beside the parking area. Still have to reverse onto the ferry.

Very effecient loading and off loading of ferrys. Just watch the person in your mirror directing you and dont pre adjust before being directed.
