Massive THANKS to Roseate sailing school for their incredible tuition throughout, while accommodating my disability and medical needs 🙏 Josh and Gary were incredibly patient and supportive teachers and I will be booking again to consolidate my new skills and gain some more sea miles before sailing solo.

Myself and two friends booked for the day Skipper and competent crew over two different weekends and on the first day one of our crew succumbed to sea sickness and needed to return to shore. This was dealt with very promptly and considerably by Gary shipmate didn’t need to suffer unduly.

However, I couldn’t have been successful without the incredible support from my son, who stepped in to cover for our sea sick friend, so he is now qualified as Competent Crew and contemplating his Day Skipper 😁🫶🏻🙏 thank you Sonshine you were amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Josh took my partner and me (and our dog Soc) out on our recently purchased yacht and helped us get to grips sailing short handed. He very kindly helped us plan our Chanel crossing and give us some brilliant advice and encouragement to set sail and enjoy our adventure. He really couldn’t have done more to get us ready and across the channel, moving our life-raft, tying down our dinghy and untangling halyards. We will always be extremely grateful!

I signed up for my competent crew ready for a family holiday, having done very little sailing before. I can’t fault the experience one bit - Josh made sure everyone on the boat got stuck in and experienced all different areas of sailing. I came away feeling I’d genuinely learnt a lot. Josh’s laid back approach makes for a very relaxed atmosphere and enjoyable learning - it basically felt like a holiday! When the wind was there he made sure we maximised our sailing opportunities and when there was no wind he would still make sure the time was well spent by going over theory aspects, and even found time for a spot of paddle boarding and fishing! I’d recommend Roseate to anyone thinking of signing on for a course and I’ll definitely be back for more courses in the future!

Did my comp crew and a channel hop with Josh. Always fun to step on board of Seraphim. Josh is a great instructor, keeps the information clear, you can always ask questions and he's got an incredible amount of experience. Would 100% recommend to all my friends wanting to do courses or build up their mileage

Josh recently took us out for the day on a 42ft Bavaria, for a sail around the Solent, with lunch moored over in Osbourne Bay. We had a fantastic time! My wife and I have done a decent amount of sailing, but our 4 friends are novices, and they wanted to get some experience in ahead of the flotilla holiday that we've got booked together later in the year. So, Josh took us out and he explained everything (far better than I ever could), and he got each person pulling up the sails, pulling lines and helming. He's a really great teacher, and very calm and competent. We had a superb day, and now the gang are really looking forward to the flotilla holiday (with eagerness now, instead of anxiety!). Josh is such a nice bloke, and he's superb at what he does! THANK YOU JOSH!!

Have just completed a comptetent crew course with this school sailed with Josh as our intructor all the superlatives I know seem inadequate to describe what a fantastic week I had !!!!
I learnt so much with Josh who has a brilliant instructional techinique which enables you make amazing progress and retain everything you are taught. Must give a shout out also to Gary who was onboard with us and also was so knowleable and helpful Both were great company I finnished only two days ago and I miss them already and can not wait to get back and do the next course
It goes without saying I would highly recomend anybody whatever your ability to learn and go sailing with this school you will learn loads and have a really really good time

I had Josh as my instructor for my RYA day skipper course. He was excellent. Very patient, professional and knowledgable. I also already had a bareboat charter booked for the Ionian with my family and Josh went out of his way to help me feel confident for this; suggesting ways my kids could get involved when sailing but also more importantly helping me with med-mooring practice! Thank you Josh for all your help - the holiday was brilliant.
