Office staff have zero customer service skills.
The van I had got was barely road legal. Noises from both front wheel every time you go over a bump. Lady in the office put on the paper work no damage and when you get the van there is damage. double check and take pictures before you leave.
And she makes you pay £8 extra for insurance and if you ask if you need to pay it then she tells you if you don’t pay it then we need £700 deposit. Crazy.
Better rental companies about.
Enterprise is half the price and staff are extremely helpful

I often use Robinson's hire drive for different reasons but mostly for personal use. The staff are honest and friendly but most importantly professional. They have extended kindness and support to me recently regarding the breakdown of my son's car being on their property and this was very much appreciated. I find their prices to be fair and just and I have never had any issues with the company.

I was supposed to be part of a road trip with my friend, who booked a car through this company. They paid a £100 deposit, and after doing so, the company told them they didn’t have insurance for drivers with less than 5 years of experience, which isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website. When they pointed this out, cancelled the booking, and asked for a refund, the company claimed the deposit was non-refundable. This is misleading, as the website clearly states that only deposits for nine-seater vehicles are non-refundable, and my friend was booking a five-seater. Despite several attempts to get the situation sorted and a refund issued, the company has completely ignored their emails. Just wanted to share this so others don't get caught out by this dishonest company.

I am writing on behalf of my daughter, who is seeking a refund for a deposit paid to your company in relation to a car hire booking. According to the terms clearly outlined on your website, deposits are refundable unless a nine-seater vehicle is booked. My daughter was attempting to hire a five-seater vehicle, which clearly falls outside the non-refundable deposit policy.
Despite this, your company has unjustifiably refused to issue a refund, which constitutes a breach of the terms and conditions outlined on your site. My daughter has made several attempts to resolve the matter through email correspondence, but these have been ignored. We trust you will take immediate action to refund the deposit in accordance with your stated policy. We look forward to your prompt response.

Robinsons car hire took £100 as deposit and when we discovered that one of our drivers could not be covered by the company’s insurance, Robinsons refused to refund us. This was a long-planned trip and caused a lot of unnecessary stress which could have been avoided if the company updated their website with suitable terms and conditions. We are in full entitlement to receive our refund and we hope Robinsons will respond to our emails and reimburse us.

Excellent staff both in the office and in the yard. Van was ideal for house move. It was clean and tidy inside and out. Pick up and drop off were straight forward.

I wish to formally express my concerns in regard to our recent experience with this company. A friend sought to reserve a five-seater vehicle for an upcoming road trip; however, mere days before our scheduled reservation — amidst the busy Christmas season — we were informed that the booking could not proceed. This decision was predicated upon one of our designated drivers having less than five years of driving experience — a requirement that was neither disclosed on the company’s website nor stipulated in the terms and conditions. Fortunately, we were able to cancel the reservation within a reasonable timeframe. Nevertheless, the company has since refused to refund the £100 deposit, despite their own terms explicitly stating that deposits are non-refundable only for nine-seater vans. This inconsistency — coupled with the company’s unwillingness to address the situation — has thus raised serious concerns in regard to their business practices and contractual integrity.

Paid a £100 deposit and afterwards they informed me that they don’t have the insurance to cover someone who has been driving for less than 5 years. This is not stated anywhere on the website. I pointed
this out, cancelled the booking and asked for a refund but they claimed it was non-refundable, which is incorrect because the website states that the deposit is only non-refundable for the nine seaters, and I was trying to hire a car with five seats. I have tried again and again to make my case that I should be refunded but they have ignored my emails. Posting this review to warn others of this thieving company.
