Today the weather wasn't the worst, although there was no sun, it rained only at the very end, around 4 p.m., so you could enjoy all the attractions. The great hill from which you slide down on a so-called carpet/doormat deserves great recognition, great fun! I went with my son several times! What really surprised us was the pedal helicopter! It was the first time I saw it and it's really cool, suspended high among the trees, just waiting for your muscular legs to start pedaling and then move through the unknown! Really a firecracker! Unfortunately, the splash area was open but due to the weather not being the best, there were only a few people there, we walked in for a while, walked up and left, we will definitely come back next year to check out all the slides when there is sun ā˜€ļø There is also a place with animals, of various kinds such as carousels and super cool two-person pontoons on the water, which by pressing one button you can spin tops or move in the direction of the steering wheel, there are two cannons on the side, so spectators or people standing on the shore can throw in Ā£1 and then give back Ā£10 shots, but both cannons did not work, although the staff was very nice because when they noticed that someone had put money in, they quickly returned it. The cannons fired at random times. Mini golf is also cool, but it should be added that it is included in the ticket price because there are parks where you have to pay extra for it. You can eat or drink something at every step, I also have a problem with the toilets, although unfortunately they are not fully functional, because I was in two different toilets and neither of them had hand dryers and both doesn't work. As my son said, a large wooden castle with large slides also works. There is one place that looks like a big fun place inside, but in the middle there is an attraction for children that has chairs around a pillar, goes up and falls down helplessly. Very nice, you can eat something downstairs, there is soft play for the little ones and upstairs for the bigger ones, but unfortunately despite the relative weather - it was cloudy, about 20°, it was very hot upstairs and after half an hour we had to go out to get some fresh air šŸ™‚ overall, the park is 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the friendly team working there is always helpful, so keep it up and I'll come back next year :))) thank you again 🄰🄰

Second time visiting Wheelgate with our little ones and despite the weather it’s a great little visit! Food is reasonably priced with it being on the smaller side of a family park I can understand some people thinking it’s a little expensive but they too have to run the place! The kids are fascinated with the animals (see the baby piglets only a week old!) it’s lovely! This time around our eldest was big enough to go on the smaller rides and had a blast! The indoor play area is perfect for the kids to run off steam and for our youngest to find her feet and have fun with her big sister. Absolutely would recommend this place to anyone with younger children, even on a colder day, there’s still so much to see and do! We visited last time in the summer for the water park and that itself was amazing, even if it did take a few minutes to find a seat for the family it was definitely worth the trip there! We now have annual passes for the whole family and can’t wait to go back!

We visited Wheelgate Park today for the first time. There was no wait time. On arrival, we were greeted with two dressed up characters which was fun for the children. It was unfortunate that it rained on and off for most of the day but it didn’t seem to affect the day too much for us. We found a few rides were shut as soon as we arrived due to the weather when it wasn’t even raining at the time which seemed strange. There was also a couple of big rides down for maintenance (like the merry go round) which I guess can’t be helped but was a little disappointing. The Maze outside was brilliant, we were in there for ages but the kids & adults loved it! Overall, there was quite a lot we could do here- from the rides, to all the animals (reptiles, farm animals & furry friends like bunny’s & guinea pigs & ferrets), all the bouncy castles, trampoline area, sand areas, go kart areas, several large playgrounds and soft plays & more.

Plenty of indoor places for when it rained heavy including quite a few rides indoors too which was very helpful. Food was great, came fast as well. The Falcon talk was amazing and both of my children got to wear the glove whilst the owl flew to and from them. It was a great experience. We also got to see the otters being fed which was good too.

We went in the tropical house and was a little confused really. It was very small and there wasn’t a single butterfly in sight. The fish were beautiful. We tried to pay for food to feed them except the machine was empty so we couldn’t feed them. Apart from the train ride, we found a lot of the rides were quite basic and not much different to eachother. Staff were mostly on the friendly side, but there were quite a few staff that really didn’t look like they were happy being there. Like someone else said on their review, I also agree with not understanding why adults have to pay so much more than children’s tickets when there weren’t many rides the adults could actually go on.

They also had golf which looked good but we didn’t have a go. Our children loved the village/houses, it was one of their favourites.
We also had a look at the splash park, which we didn’t get to go on today, but I can imagine would be amazing in summer so we would definitely love to come back next summer to give that a go.

The boats were fantastic & there was an option to pay £1 to use the water canon to try and spray the people on the boats which was good fun.

Please know that if you book to go here, that there’s so much going on and so much to do, that you & your child won’t get bored- I can promise you that!

For reference, we stayed for 5 hours!

Thank you for a fun day out.

We visited 2 weeks ago.. it was a lovely day out with family. Highly recommend, no waiting time, reasonable price, lot of fun play both indoor and outdoor, lot of
animals.
Unfortunately, it was raining, and a few rides were shut due to weather. (Hopefully, next time, we can try ) Otherwise, We enjoyed the day šŸ˜€.

I went with my sister, niece and grand-nephew today. The weather was kind to us so it made the day more enjoyable. It's really changed from when I took my 2 daughters who are now in their 30's. There's the animal part, where we saw some little piglets. A caterpillar ride, slides, a wooden fort, absolutely loads of things to do. I would highly recommend taking your little ones.

Do not visit this place! Rude miserable staff. Rides look closed because staff are elsewhere chatting. Bouncing pillow states you can accompany your child then the staff members tell you, you can’t. After getting a staff member that can actually read we were told we were right but by this point my 90cm child, who had been trying to climb onto the pillow for ages had got so frustrated she was screaming so we had to leave it anyway. Tropical house is awful! Half closed and fully dead. There are animals still in there it’s disgusting. Barn smells really bad. Reptile house was tired and the otters enclosure was badly maintained. Waited around for ages waiting for ride operatives to be greeted with apathy! Nearly all staff on phones around the park. Claims to be the best family theme park in the area yet adults can’t ride with children on nearly every ride. The height restrictions make no sense. She can ride some rides but can’t ride similar (tamer looking) rides in different areas. Sand pit dangerous! Full of broken plastics. Trampolines only half open and unstaffed. Fire pit unstaffed definitely a hazard. Halloween event was non existent (visited 1/11/24) they claim it’s still on till 3/11/24. I’ve emailed a very lengthy complaint but I doubt from the reviews I’ve seen that I’m going to get a response. If I could give less that 1 star I would. This is my second visit and after the last one being an okish experience and this one being awful I will not be returning.

I was expecting the usual overpriced and rundown park. I was completely wrong. Yes, there were some parts that needed some attention, yet it was, in a much greater part Very well cared for. Our two grandchildren were very busy going from one place to another. Spotting the dinosaurs, going on ride, climbing, bouncing etc. the water park kept them enthralled for a good few hours. Plenty of staff there to keep the place safe too. There are plenty of well placed toilets. Places to buy drinks and food . Car parking aplenty, well staffed too.
Any criticisms? Not really. A touch of paint here and there maybe. A bit of maintenance too. Personally we thought it was good value for money and we are highly likely to visit again
A word of praise to the staff there. Throughout the day we only encountered a happy and helpful bunch of staff. It's always easy to complain about things, yet I would like to thank all the staff there. Thanks for making our grandchildren's day so memorable (and our day so easy)

Great place to take the family. Went recently with my daughters and the grand kids…. Everyone had a blast. Indoor play areas are great fun and the outdoor splash park is fabulous - if not a little chilly unless the day is REALLY HOT….

Difficult to get in if you don’t have any kids with you…… crazy rules dictate unaccompanied adults won’t be let in…. We got there after the family so they’d had to come and meet us at the gate to prove who we were - even though I had paid the complete entrance fee online and had printed proof of this with us…..just a little OTT if you ask me……

In general, a great day out for families of all ages.

Go up
