We loved this place. Maybe our favorite day of our vacation. The train ride from Leeds was great, we enjoyed talking to the volunteer, Peter, who explained a lot to us about the Viaduct. There are several great educational panels, as well as tea and coffee and souvenirs. The walk to see the viaduct close up was great, including a short stop at the pub.

I love that a group of dedicated volunteers have restored and maintain this, facility to a high standard. I popped in after a walk locally and enjoyed a freshly-brewed pot of tea, accompanied by some tasty biscuits. There's an historical section that provides insight into the history of some of the pioneers of the rail industry. Definitely worth a visit and well worth supporting.

Cosy and an interesting place to have a look in. A little bit chilly because it is an older building right on top of a hill where the wind whistles in all directions, but that is easily remedied by one of their hot drinks.

Due to a number of physical issues a 3-peak attempt turned into calling it a day after 2 for three of us last weekend and we found ourselves at the visitor centre hoping to catch a train as our car was parked in Horton! Janet at the visitor centre informed us the next train service to Horton was over 2 hours away but she could try and book us a cab. A cab was ordered within minutes, we enjoyed tea/coffee and cake in the station cafe whilst we waited. Janet also shared directions to our accommodation in Settle and couldn't have been more helpful. What had been quite a disappointment on the walking challenge was transformed by Janet's kindness to us and despite my grubby state she was more than happy to accept a much-deserved hug before we left. Cabbie back to Horton was a good laugh too. Just wanted to say Janet, you're a star and visitor centre treasure. Thank you!
