I had surgery on January 18th with Dr Ramazan. The whole surgical team were amazing and I am recovering well with no issues. Patrycja has been wonderful throughout the whole process, even helping when I was actually in turkey.

Here is my honest review of the whole process...

On arrival at the airport we were picked up straight away and taken to the hospital, which was very clean. We were met by the interpreter and taken for some tests more or less straight away. That evening we were given meals but to be honest the food was not the best and you had no choice of what to have, they just brought it already plated. My companion struggled with this aspect but obviously I didn't! 🙂

There are a few shops around the hospital to get drinks, snacks or a meal at the kebab place for your companion. The call to prayer is very loud and can be heard multiple times a day, I love this but I understand a lot of people may not, you also hear roosters and dogs regularly and again I loved this too!

The hardest thing about the hospital was the cleaners and nurses coming in and out loudly at all hours. They would switch the big light on when we were fast asleep! The cleaner did this twice late at night and walked back out leaving the light on, I wasn't impressed at all.

The other worrying thing to me was the hygiene practises employed by some of the nurses. Whilst the hospital is clean some nurses do not wear gloves and I complained about this only to be told that when taking blood they cannot feel the vein whilst wearing gloves, there are no issues like this in the UK. My drain was emptied into a kidney dish and it was placed on the side board by my bed, it stayed there until I was discharged, so not great!. They did use alcohol wipes before taking blood and even though I was concerned about some things my care was pretty good.

Dr Ramazan came to visit me after my surgery to tell me that I had a perfect surgery and that he did not anticipate any complications, He is a wonderful man and my wounds are very minimal and neatly sutured too.

The hotel was lovely I have to say, all the staff here were lovely polite and kind. The beds were really comfy and we had a balcony too! The only downside was the gastric soup. the dietician told us we were not allowed bouillon but this was served to me the first day and the second day we were told not to eat it because it was unsuitable. We only had shakes and apple juice that day and a savoury soup would have been nice. When they did get it right the soup just tasted like hot water with salt in it to be honest. I think it was a mix up and more communication is definitely needed to ensure the correct soup is served to bariatric patients. This is so important especially in the early days of recovery when your stomach is so sensitive.

The hotel itself smells beautiful upon entry I'm not sure what they use but you have to smell it to believe it! There is a jewellery shop, hairdressers, massage therapist, swimming pool, sunbeds and a bar/restaurant. You can always pick up free water cartons at the bar anytime of day and night and the menu for the companion is pretty good. There is also free WIFI too.

Things I wish I knew before surgery...

I had to stop taking sertraline for depression and anxiety 3 days before the operation. I was expecting to be able to take them the day after but it was a further 2 days before I could and this gave me very unpleasant side effects.

You are not allowed to drink anything at all for a full day after surgery and this was very hard.

The language barrier is real!

I would need to inject myself with blood thinning medication to prevent blood clots for the next 10 days

When you are ready to leave you will be given about a months worth of bariatric powder protein drinks, a months worth of stomach protection tablets to be taken daily, some multivitamins, some injections, and a shaker cup. The dietician is lovely and will answer any questions you have and I have her on whatsapp

I'm not sure what I can say about Regenesis that hasn't already been said.
When deciding to go for a Gastric Sleeve, there really is no better company. The care they provide is second to none. From the very first initial contact, right up until the day I flew home I had fantastic communication with Alper. Any questions at any time of the day, he was always there to answer within a few minutes. If he didn't know the answer, he would find out. Hakan in the hospital doing the translation for me was a true asset! He was such a gentleman and it was comforting to have him around at such an important and scary time. Dr. Gunduz and his team are fantastic. Meet with you before the surgery, explain everything and allow you to ask any questions. Luckily I had no complications and my surgery went well. I was up walking around a few hours later. The nursing staff, catering staff, cleaning staff are all wonderful & polite. My incisions are very neat, no pain. We had our own flights and accommodation so did not avail of theirs, but their transfers were out if this world and so comfortable. Talk about travelling in style! To all of Regenesis and all of the hospital staff I cant thank you enough and I would never hesitate to recommend Regenesis to anyone.

I’ve just finished all of 6 dental treatment with Regenesis. I couldn’t be happier with my new teeth, /smile. Alper coordinated everything perfectly, answering all of my questions along the way. All of the staff in the clinic were friendly and helpful. My dentist Gokemen is very talented. Thank you for everything Regenesis.

Hi my wife contacted regenesis travel about dental work and we paid £700 deposit. She has then been diagnosed with a serious health conditon and we had to cancel within the cooling off period. We were asked to provide the doctors sick note which we did and were told we would get a refund within 30 days. It took a little longer but this was resolved. We are hoping to rebook when she is feeling better.

Ok, so i don't bother leaving reviews about things i experience unless its about something extremely bad that people should avoid it, or something extremely good that people should consider it. This is the latter. So, Regenesis were recommended to me by a friend who couldn't speak highly enough of them, and after listening to what he had to say and seeing his final results i didn't even bother looking at other practices. Now i have a phobia of the dentist chair and i didn't go out of vanity, i certainly didn't go because i wanted to, i went because i HAD to. Now, i am only half way through my treatment and so far, so good. in fact, so far, so very very good. From the second i began talking with them they instantly put me at ease, explaining every little detail etc. Every single team member at Regenesis are extremely professional and super friendly, from the surgeons themselves, to the reception staff, the guys who transport you to and from the clinic and even the girls who get the kettle on or make you a refreshing cold drink. Now i'm not going to lie and say i am looking forward to going back for the rest of my treatment, because i'm not.... But i can tell you that i'm not worried anymore. I know i am in safe hands. Now i am sure there are other practices equally as good as Regenesis, but i am sure there are some that are to be avoided.... Take it from me, this practice deserves this review. They are brilliant. Good luck.......

I went to Turkey last year and the service was OK, this year it was shocking, I write an email and get a half hearted response I responded to that email and got ignored. No receipt or paperwork post operation. I had a tummy tuck and was BB when there where others having a gastric sleeves on half board, apparently they needed the nutrition..... water, apple juice and dish water. Not much nutrition in that . I paid 3200 gastric sleeve slightly cheaper. Sooo disappointed and will not be recommending this company to anyone.
