Had great fun onboard this mini steam train, different varieties of carriages. I was told one of them can be used for cream teas which would’ve been pretty fun. The journey lasts around 40 minutes and trains run back and forth roughly every hour. Good fun for both families and groups of friends.

The not so good bit first. After spending a fair amount on the 4 tickets to then have an additional £6 car parking is a bit of a leg pull.
Decent cafe at Ravenglass and prices not that bad but the latte was very weak, that's probably how they keep the price down?
Train was excellent, if a bit of a squeeze with 4 in a little cabin, we were lucky to to have a spare 2 seats behind so we could all have a bit of room. Nice journey there and back so all in all pretty good morning out.

Lots to engage children, the musuem is well set out, thank you for having things to touch! The rail journey was fun with lots of animals to see. Just enough time to grab a drink and cake while the engine got moved and we set off again

Nice excursion on the train and made better as we could take the dog. Eskdale has some lovely walks and there is a waterfall close by to visit if you don’t mind an arduous walk by the water up over 150 ft to the top. If you have knee problems then walk the path through the fields which was lovely as well.

I loved my train adventure through stunning scenery. It's utterly adorable to see all the different sheep along the way and the dogs enjoying the train journey with a backdrop of jaw-dropping natural beauty. Cafe and shop at both ends, and a pub and museum in Ravenglass. I opted for a semi-open carriage with it being a mixed weather day and glad of my cosy coat, but it didn't detract from the fun of the ride. As a solo passenger, I had my carriage to myself, and on the journey out, I was right behind the engine, which was fun. An absolute must visit attraction. Lots of walks and Scarfell to investigate before the return journey, time permitting!

A great little railway with several coach options from open to first class covered or partly covered. The engines are polished and lovingly treated. A great journey with several stops for the keen walkers to explore the area, on the day we visited it was OK at the bottom but very wet at the top. A great day out.

A fantastic set up! Cosy carriages brings family together as you trundle through picturesque scenery, with smiles and friendly waves from curious onlookers! My 2 year old son, although a lover of trains, was a little apprehensive to get into the carriage, but once we'd set off, he had a brilliant time. So much so, that he was keen to get back in to make way back! The stations have lovely cafes with delicious coffees, sausage rolls and very enjoyable chips! Would recommend for all ages.
