Fantastic little company. The savings they're able to offer via their splitting algorithm mean I'm able to travel significantly more than otherwise. Also fantastic customer service on the railukforums, where they often fix bugs or fares errors within hours.

Dreadful. As a disabled person attending an urgent medical appointment in Durham I booked first class flexible return knowing I would probably be unwell and need a bit of wiggle room to catch my return train home the same day as the outward journey. Outward journey was fine, usual service, first class, no problem. Return journey was not. First it was the wrong service and only a third of it was first class, but ALL the tickets were invalid, having been dated not, as expected, to be used within one month of the outward journey but AFTER one month of the outward journey. No one noticed this until I was on the LNER trying to desperately find my way home. I was ejected from the LNER first class to stand in a corridor and charged again for the ticket for my trouble. I was then told to get off at Doncaster, find a ticket office and buy tickets for the remainder of my journey because they TOO were invalid (and, standard class, NOT the first class tickets I had requested and paid through the nose for). The journey took forever, standing, ill and alone on deserted stations waiting for trains. Trainsplit answered my emails, but when I complained officially via Consumer Rights, they denied responsibility and pointed to Raileasy as the new owners of Trainsplit - the company I bought my tickets from. The cunning way the tickets were dated gave no immediate clue of the problem UNTIL they were scanned onboard the train. My £142 journey ended up costing me double, plus the costs of chasing this up, and made a substantial dent in my physical well being. If you really want to use this company, you need to be completely aware that they WILL do this if they can get away with it, and have an encyclopedic knowledge of the Rail Ticketing Systems before you part with your cash.

Booked a trip from Leeds to Cardiff recently and the price was very competitive. Unfortunately we couldn't make the journey as the trains were cancelled due to snow and ice. I messaged them and very quickly they refunded my full fare. Very impressed with them

I just had to cancel an advance split ticket due to illness. They do not refund the "share of saving", whatever that means, and they also charge a £10 admin fee so in total I am left over £20 out of pocket despite the fact it's not my fault I am ill. Will not buy train tickets with them ever again

I ordered train tickets via the company’s website ‘trainsplit’ and I received an error message when collecting my tickets at the station before departure. I went to the ticket office who said the tickets were locked by the company I ordered the tickets through and the ticket office couldn’t help until the tickets were unlocked.
Whilst I would prefer this didn’t happen the customer service were able to sort out the problem and it was resolved in a few hours. Customer service are open mon-fri 9:30-5:30. If you have an issue outside of this time you may be in a bigger predicament. So I’d advise collecting tickets well before you need to travel.

Refused to communicate with me over a refund for over two weeks. They are using COVID as an excuse for not refunding my trip, despite DfT's COVID terms no longer being valid.

I quoted their own terms regarding refunds of Advanced tickets twice and neither time did the refunds department address it. I have been advised by two separate staff members over the phone to send my query onto a different email address (the first of which said that a refund should be possible). The first time, it just forwarded on to the same team I was emailing before. I emailed the second address last Wednesday and still haven't had a reply.

Also, be aware that they have MANY different websites offering the same service. I originally booked on Splitticketing.com, the team I first emailed were from Trainsplit.com and the parent company is Raileasy.

EDIT because of response from RailEasy: Hi Joe,

In my review, I referred to the terms and conditions that were sent to me on my booking. I know there is the Book with Confidence scheme, but your own terms say I should receive (at least) a partial refund for my amended trip. I bought this up twice, but neither time was it addressed, and it still hasn't been addressed by your reply.

As I said before, I made a journey from Folkestone > Nottingham, via Kettering and back on each booking.
