This is the second time I had to use this post office branch. Unfortunately both times, I had a very unpleasant experience. The woman at the counter is not professional at all. She gets annoyed if we ask a simple question about the different postal options available. Not sure why she works there if she despises customers so much. Perhaps she needs some customer training to teach her to be welcoming and say thank you etc

Reading the reviews it’s evident that it’s not only me who experienced such rude behaviour from her.

Never again at this post office. 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️

The lovely people who have taken over the post office and shop from Mr and Mrs Pinner are always welcoming, knowledgeable and efficient. It’s a pleasure to use this post office and shop. Thanks very much - keep up the good work- And have a very happy Christmas.

poor service by post office staff more interested in gossiping rather than serving customers, and the other one who serves behind the counter needs sacking as dont have no knowledge on how to serve customers , what a laughing stock

It will be no surprise to you both that I am writing this review after you have publicly humiliated me in your post office! Luckily I am a complaints manager and have dealt with far worse but I am saddened that you have handled this situation so unprofessionally. I came to the post office to send a parcel (all handled politely) and then collect a parcel. It was then that you advised me that you had sent the parcel back as my husband had left a 1 star review for an unrelated experience. So out of spite you had returned my parcel, without allowing me the chance to collect. I have returned home to re read my husbands review which you replied to, offering a good explanation. You also ended this with 'Hope to see you soon'. I understand the upset that a 1 star review can have on new business owners, but the review was constructive and also complemented your staff. Reviews are there so that a business can learn and improve. I am therefore pretty confused with your behaviour towards me today. You said that my husbands review was jeopardising your business. I hope that you will learn from my review or you will find that only 'you' are jeopardising your business. I have never been banned from a place in my life from a review that I didn't leave!!! On the subject of my unreceived parcel I will be escalating this to the supplier and the Post Office regarding fair reasons for banning a person from using their services.

What you have written here in response to my review is untrue. There was no aggressive behaviour on either side. What you have said about me is slanderous. You didn't send the parcel back because of. my behaviour, you sent it back before I came in the shop! Your cctv will just show how you treated a customer.

🫣 I’m slightly embarrassed to even write this but need to get my point across. And you can’t even make this stuff up.

🕰️ I’ve used this shop for over 40 years and in recent years have spent £100s per year at the post office and over the counter.

🚫 But this week I have been BAND from the shop! 🚫

❓ You may ask why. Because apparently, I left REPEATED negative reviews online. For the record I left 1 review from my business account, PostureFit. Please tell me if you find more.

💰 In response to my previous review, it was clearly stated that customers are dealt with based on the profitability of the goods and services the customers bring. Eg purchase of goods over parcel collections/shipping. That’s fine it’s the new owner’s choice how they run their business.

😢 The piece I am most upset by is the way my wife has been treated. Based on my previous review, the owners decided to return a parcel my wife had arranged to collect from the shop without waiting the prescribed number of days allowed for collection of the item. When she questioned why the item was returned and not available, the owners stated it was because of MY review. Really? What is that about?

🤥 On top of this they described by wife’s reaction and behaviour to the parcel scenario as “out of control” and “aggressive”. Anyone who knows my wife will not recognise her as ever being “out of control” or “aggressive”.

🎥 We have since seen the CCTV footage of the parcel collection attempt from the shop and it is clear to see there is no aggression or out of control behaviour.

👮Finally, in our last correspondence with the owners they signed off with this message. And I quote:

“I would also like to remind you that you and Mrs Kerr are banned from this premises and the police will be called if you continue to disregard this”

⚠️ So local community, please continue to use the shop and post office as it is well established local business providing valuable services……but be aware that negative reviews can leave you banned and threatened with Police action.

⭐PS. I note that this Google business account has received double the number of positive reviews on 17/9/2024 than it has over the past 3 years 🤔

I'm giving 2 stars because the location is convenient for me. Otherwise it would be 1 star.
(I’ve changed my mind after writing the review, 1 star)

I find the post office and store increasingly frustrating.

Although the post office seems to be understaffed these days (perhaps over staffed in the past, and difficult to manage man hours I’m sure), the counter end of the shop is a shambles.

The moment there are customers waiting for counter services and ‘parcel delivery/collections’ there appears to be little or no organisation for priority to who will be served next.

I’m generally pretty tolerant and appreciate that people and businesses are busy, but this situation has happened to me on multiple occasion (and my wife as well), so I'm fed up and today was the final straw.

Finally – pleasant owners and staff but process flow skills poor.
I am sure I am not alone in my thoughts.

Staff at Putnoe Street post office are amazing . Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to help and advise on anything . Thank you for all of your help and advice .

The guy who is on the retail counter who also looks after Amazon and Evri parcels is great . Been in a couple of times and he is always efficient and friendly
