Just returned from a five day stay at this ideal situated lodge, perfect for visiting Bamburgh to Alnwick, Lindisfarne and Seahouses.|The rooms are clean and well furnished. Large shower cubical, however the shower could have been a bit more powerful. The bed was comfortable. Of course the views across the fields to the castle on the horizon, just wonderrful.|The breakfast is plentyful and tasty. I would stay here again.

We love stopping here when we are travelling. The cafe has a lovely selection of food and cakes, the cakes are made locally, and a selection of coffee.
The toilets are always clean.
There is a little grassy area that is good for letting the dog stretch it's legs and go to the toilet.

The staff were polite, courteous, and hardworking. An ideal location for travelling out daily to visit the local sights. The room was small and, at times, could be noisy, depending on neighbours. However, it was very reasonably priced, in my opinion. The food was plentiful and enjoyable. I would stay again.

It’s hard to choose the right words to describe just how good this place is. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are immaculate and very comfortable, and the food…well the breakfasts are generous and delicious, and the four of us have rarely had such consistently superb dinners from right across the menu offered. Superlatives fly when describing Purdy Lodge. It’s truly magnificent.

This review is purely about Purdy Lodge & Restaurant & not of the Cafe & Services.||We needed somewhere to stay within striking distance of Bamburgh Castle & Seahouses. Purdy Lodge did this for us.|As this is a family run business the staff have a lot to multitask but do so very well.|A warm welcome ,explanation about the arrangements for dining & check-in done. |Our rooms faced the Wheat fields to the rear of the Lodge with views to the sea & Bamburgh Castle on the horizon. The family room that we had was clean & well presented with a nice bathroom & Mira shower which was great.|Usual tea/coffee making & t.v in the room, all that you could need for a short stay.Despite being on the A1 the fact that the rooms are to the rear & double glazing led to a peaceful nights sleep, wasn’t disturbed by any traffic noise.|We dined in the restaurant & all three of us really enjoyed our meals which as stated are freshly made using local ingredients & suppliers. Drinks were fairly priced too.|Service was friendly & not rushed.|Breakfast was excellent. A buffet of cereals, fruit, yoghurts ,jams & juice with bread & toaster. There were a few options to choose from on the breakfast menu, again made to order with good quality ingredients.|This is 100% on our return to list.

Stopped at the cafe for breakfast, it was lovely and hot, freshly cooked and tasted great! The coffee was good, bit of a twang to it but not bad.
Lady taking orders did her job but the waitress was very friendly when bringing our food and smiled! Makes all the difference ?

We visited the restaurant 2 nights, as the food and service was so good. We didn’t stay at the lodge. Service was quick, lovely friendly staff. Food was excellent and good sized portions. Excellent value for money. Plenty of choice on the menu.
