In October, I purchased a Wowcher for a surprise trip to Budapest in January 2024 for my partner. The redemption process with the travel operator, Prime Holidays, initially seemed promising as they confirmed the booking of flights and a hotel. However, my experience took a turn when the operator requested additional payment to confirm the booking, stating that failure to do so would result in cancellation.

Expressing my dissatisfaction via email, I received no response, and attempts to reach them by phone were futile, with calls going unanswered. Two days before Christmas, I received a threatening email stating that failure to make the payment by December 24th would lead to the cancellation of the holiday. Despite continued efforts to contact them, my attempts were met with silence.

This situation amounts to mis-selling, as the initial offer did not include subsequent demands for additional payments. Furthermore, the lack of responsiveness and refusal to provide a payment method added to the frustration. I reached out to Wowcher through email and WhatsApp, but their response has been unprofessional, dismissing my concerns and claiming an inability to refund due to the holiday being "booked." My next course of action is to pursue a refund through the payment provider.

As for Prime Holidays, a simple online search reveals numerous complaints from dissatisfied customers. Their unresponsiveness via email and phone raises concerns about their ability to provide reliable services. I question why Wowcher allows such a company to trade on their platform. Despite being protected by ATOL under number 3928, my complaint highlights the limitations of this protection, as it only applies in the event of the company going into liquidation.

Furthermore, the discovery that Prime Holidays' website terms of service are copy/pasted from another site, "LocalsOne," raises serious questions about the company's integrity and transparency. (this has since been changed, but have proof of this) 😉

This entire experience has been disappointing and frustrating, and I felt it was essential to bring these issues to your attention.

I wanted to review this company as there are a lot of negative reviews that I know made me nervous, but I remembered people are more likely to leave negative reviews than positive. I overall had a positive experience with PTC travel (booked the Lake Como trip with Wowcher)

I will give a special shout out to Divya, she was incredibly helpful, and got any questions/issues sorted very fast. She talked me through the whole process, I did end up upgrading my flights and this went smoothly. When I did have a bump in the road, I called and she sorted this in about 5 minutes. The holiday was amazing, the location was ideal and around lots of public transport which I was worried about. If you’ve booked through Wowcher and are worried about some of these reviews, I would put your trust in the company, and if you can ask for Divya!

My experience did start negatively however, which is why I knocked it down one star. There was a mess up on the technical side, and my holiday which was meant to be for February, was booked in December (and only 4 days away from when I make the booking!). This was obviously very stressful, and the man I spoke to wasn’t the most friendly and didn’t help. This got sorted via Wowcher, and I decided to rebook, as I imagined the same technical error wouldn’t happen twice.

I was overall happy with the experience, par the initial mess up, everything was great and we had a lovely holiday to Lake Como for an amazing price, thank you PTC 🙂

Honestly the worst travel agency, booked a holiday back in October to go to Amsterdam called every single week to try to book flights and hotel.. finally booked the week before Christmas but had to pay and extra £200 for flights. The 4* hotel that originally come with the wowcher booking was apparently unavailable so ‘upgraded’ me to a 2*. Don’t ever request a call back from them because they will never call back or email because its just as bad.. Apart from that we had a lovely trip away but if you have to book through PTC steer clear.
