We spent about 30 minutes here, watching the fish being fed and hearing about the history of the place. The turbot was our favourite - we weren't expecting fish to have such funny personalities! Highly recommend stopping off if you're visiting the area.

This was an interesting pond which I had never seen anything like it before! There is a lot of history with the ponds creation and of course it operation today as an active fish pond where you can get up close and really see the fish. There was also some smaller tanks holding crabs and lobster as well as other smaller fish and crabs. All very interesting and worth the small fee to enter. At the time it was £12 for family 2 adults and up to 4 children per ticket and £5 per adult and £3.50 per child for single tickets. There is a shop and small museum on site as well along with an old tidal bath. The road in was a bit bumpy so wouldn’t recommend driving along it in low sprung cars but it would be a short walk from the carpark. It isn’t a suitable site for wheel chairs as the pond has stairs leading down to it.

We had a lovely visit to this quirky little place. We were greeted by the very friendly man who runs the place who showed us around. He is incredibly knowledgeable! We were able to watch the fish get fed and learn about the history of the fish pond. The museum was also very interesting. We loved that this place is also dog friendly! We had a great visit and definitely highly recommend this place

Visited location on Easter Monday whilst heading to the Mull of Galloway. Great decision. Very interesting piece of history and great information added by the host. Got to see fish and other sea dwellers that you would not normally see and learnt quite a few things during the tour. Well worth the visit.

Interesting place, you'd never know it was there. A lot of history, the guide explained it's origins. A hidden gem and paying the entrance fee helps preserve it, which for me was worth it.

A little hidden gem which is definitely worth a visit. Never seen fish from the sea in a pond before! They come up to the surface near you as you walk around. Does not take long to see everything but it is well worth a visit and reasonably priced.
