Serenity Lodge is beyond idyllic ? I think it has been VERY unfairly criticised on previous reviews .. maybe emotions were high? I don't know but our emotions were pure joy and happiness on every day of our stay .| The Lodge is a home from home with everything you need to cook and entertain ..board games , books , dvds. | Beds are comfy with beautiful fresh comfy bedding . Excellent storage space . The shower is brilliant and part of an ensuite to one of the 3 bedrooms and so lovely having a bath also! | WiFi works perfectly , as does the TV .. only a few channels on free view but we used our Netflix with no issues .| The sofa is one of the comfiest I have ever known!|The decking is perfect and enclosed so great for nervous or reactive dogs . Lovely cushioned furniture also .| We loved the walk round the lake and were always greeted by smiles from staff and locals alike .| There are a few shops in Millom and a Tesco but we brought most of our food with us as we knew big supermarkets weren't near by .| The little beach is a must for sunset ..and look out for the 'pizza landrover' on the car park there ! .| Rachel has been amazing from start to end and we had no issue at all having our £50 security deposit back | We are already looking to re-book as we fell in love with this place ?

We rented a private caravan at this site for 4 nights.|Description sounded like a dream - local village, beach and lakeside - but on arrival became a nightmare. |Haverigg Beach has, in August 24, been ranked the dirtiest beach in the UK due to poor water cleanliness.|Nearby village of Millom was a dump - only highlights were a little Tesco and a petrol station so we could refuel and put as much distance between us and there as possible. |Locals shouting and swearing at their toddlers whilst doing their shopping.|One evening we had no running water for hours. After looking on Facebook this seems to be a regular occurrence on the site due to low water pressure. |Went to the Ski Bar on the 1st evening to be told not to bother ordering food as it would be a 2 hour wait. |Glad we didn’t as there were 2 loud drunk men who couldn’t control the biggest dog I have ever seen and letting it wander round the bar. |Broken stools left out. |Gang of youths lighting fires by the beach. |Next door village of Haverigg is home to an open prison with 300 inmates. |Came home a day early.

Stayed at a private caravan for 3 nights, nothing to do in the area , a walk round the lake takes 2 hours past piles of rubble and bricks then you are stuck for the rest of the stay, beach is weird you cant walk or get to it bad vibes around haverigg nothing there just a run down council estate, the caravan park just seems to house residents that can’t afford a house strangest break we have ever had , Millom has a tesco and is just as strange will mark it down as places to not go back too.

Stayed in No 73 caravan. Please deep clean this van and remove the dirty underwear belonging to somebody else from behind the radiator in the main bedroom. Also clean the cooker please and fix the door, its a fire hazard.

We had a long weekend at the caravan park with our 1year old and dog. It is a nice, tidy and clean village which allows dogs (to be kept on lead). There was a lovely playground area for our child and it is a short walk to a few beaches, local shops and a nature reserve.

This is a great place if you enjoy a walk!
