My son had the time of his life touring Manchester, York, the Lake District, playing soccer on the roof of his hotel and playing several matches with different university teams there and getting some great coaching and watching the two biggest games of the year… man united and man city and shopping in the mall, and riding the tram … it was beyond exceptional experience for him! pitch trip tours and Beth Leadbetter who put the whole thing together and took care of the whole team and every day was available for communication and answer any questions were amazing!! Highly recommend!!

My son and I had the most wonderful experience of our lives! The accommodations were incredible, the itinerary was extremely thorough, and well planned. We were treated to some of the most beautiful, as well as historic areas of Northern England, and enjoyed every second! I highly recommend this trip to soccer teams, as well as families. Special thanks!! I would recommend this trip to anyone who is able to take it, especially if they want to play soccer at a higher level. The kid I got back is not the same child that I sent out there. The experience he had opened his heart, soul, and mind, and put a fire under him to become an even better soccer player. For him to come back matured, restored, and looking forward to his future, I just can't thank you guys enough. This was more than I could have asked for and EVERYTHING I prayed for. All the activities they did, games attended, and overall experience you guys gave them, just 10s across-the-board. In addition, they kept in such good contact with pictures and videos via WhatsApp, I didn't worry about him at all!! That's saying a lot!! Thank you again. I pray nothing but success over this business and hope that every child comes away with the experience my son did. God bless!

If you don’t want to read my whole review, here is the summary: This was easily one of the best family vacations we've ever taken, we would highly recommend Pitch Trips to anyone, and we will be interested in Pitch Trips offers in the future. I can't say enough great things about Beth Leadbetter's leadership and execution on our trip and this experience was one we will remember for the rest of our lives.

I mean, what more can you ask for?

Beth was masterful in how she handled the logistics of the trip. She was responsible for 16 boys (ages 10-16) and seven other adults. She had everything under control while also giving everyone freedom and flexibility. The schedules were accurate and orderly. She was immediately accessible to answer any questions. And she was cheerful and upbeat despite any minor curves thrown our way (weather, crowds, etc.). It is everything that you want from someone leading an operation like this.

The trip can be broken down into three parts: the soccer playing portion, the soccer watching portion, and the non-soccer adventures. All three facets wove together seamlessly, so while it was a very soccer-centric trip there was another side that was a fantastic cultural experience.

My 10-year-old son was one of three boys (ages 10-12) unable to play in the matches with the U16’s. However, Beth did an amazing job of making sure the younger kids were included in everything and felt like part of a team. They had uniforms with their names and numbers on them like the older kids. They received top-tier instruction from a variety of coaches and had their own practices. They were able to warm up with the older kids before their matches and then sat on the bench during the games. All the older boys were so welcoming and supportive with the younger ones.

The soccer watching portion of the trip was, again, awesome. We stayed at Hotel Football, which was about 50 yards from Manchester United’s home stadium. It had an indoor soccer field on the top floor and the kids spent several nights playing and hanging out up there. The boys toured Anfield Stadium (Liverpool), we attended a Manchester City-Aston Villa match, we had two boxes at a Wolverhampton-West Ham match, and those that didn’t fly home Sunday got to see a Man. U.-Liverpool match. It had always been a dream of mine to see an English Premier League match and the two we saw (along with a third match featuring Wrexham) were SO MUCH FUN!

Further, Beth also set everyone up to get an authentic feel for Northern England. We got to explore the Manchester city center, which was a cool, vibrant urban area just minutes away by Uber or train. (The food and shopping were stellar.) There was a trip to Liverpool. There was a separate trip to York to see castles. And there was a trip to the idyllic Lake District. The English countryside is beautiful, the people were friendly, and the ease of travel (on very comfortable buses) was superb.

One of my favorite things about the organization was that it was very orderly without being stifling. Every day Beth had the schedule clearly laid out. But if you wanted to branch out and do your own thing it was totally fine. We skipped the trip to Liverpool because my family needed a day of rest. When the team went to York I took my family to Doncaster to watch a Wrexham match. My wife and daughter went to the Lake District Thursday, while my son and I stayed behind to train and take a tour of Old Trafford. There was something for everyone and lots of options.

Here is perhaps the best thing I can say about the trip: my wife and daughter both have little-to-no interest in soccer. They couldn’t care less and I was worried they might not have as much fun as my soccer-mad son and me. I can say unequivocally that my wife and daughter both absolutely loved the trip. LOVED it. They had a blast every day with both the soccer and non-soccer events.

The trip was fantastic. It was well-worth the money. Beth was great. And if given the opportunity to do it again in the future I would 100% do so. Two thumbs way up.
