I recently travelled to Scotland for the first time and was with a group of family and friends. We went with Personal Tours of Scotland to take us on a journey from Edinburgh to Inverness to Glasgow and back, and I'm so happy we did! From start to finish we had an amazing experience.

Our guide Paul had so much knowledge to share as he took us through the beauty, mystery, and incredible history of Scotland. Paul helped make sure we got the most out of every moment and made our trip so special. It was a true pleasure to meet him and our deepest thanks to Paul, Brian, and Personal Tours of Scotland! If you're considering a private tour, they are the way to go!

Our trip to Scotland couldn’t have been more perfect. Thanks to Stuart and Personal Tours of Scotland, we enjoyed a wonderful and adventurous experience exploring the Highlands and the breathtaking landscape of Scotland.

Stuart’s professionalism was outstanding. He was always punctual, cheerful, and offered thoughtful recommendations whenever our plans changed on the fly.

Along the way, he shared fascinating insights into Scotland’s history, geography, and cultural significance. His commentary gave us a deeper understanding of the Scottish way of life. Being guided by a native Scotsman made all the difference.

This was our first time in Scotland—and as every traveler knows, first impressions matter. Stuart’s warm, positive energy brought our days to life as we journeyed through the Scottish landscape.

A guide is more than someone who just shows you around. They take on the responsibility of being the face and voice of their country and culture to visitors from all across the world. It is through their work that we carry home the essence of a place—its people, its stories, and its spirit. These experiences are shared, remembered, and passed on in ways that leave lasting impressions.

A good guide will give you a good time—but a great guide makes you feel like you’ve traveled far, only to come home. Thank you Stuart and Personal Tours for the trip of a lifetime.

We had a wonderful week with Dave as we traveled throughout Scotland! He helped us fill each day with beautiful sights, interesting stories and great laughs!

Dave filled our trip with one of a kind experiences, from local ferries in Skye to a unique viewing place to see the King and Queen at the Braemar Gathering!

I was looking to travel to Scotland because I found a good price for the flight from the states and have always heard about how beautiful it is. While I was on google, I stumbled upon Personal Tours of Scotland and decided to book a Zoom call to learn more information. I met with Brian and I was pretty much sold on this is the way I want to travel. I was booking for my first solo trip so I was a little nervous about who my guide would be and how we would get along. All those worries went away when I met my guide, Dave, he was AMAZING! He was so patient, always offering to stop to take photos, taking photos of me, providing interesting history, and an overall great guy! I honestly would choose to travel back to Scotland just to hang out with Dave again because the whole experience exceeded my expectations. It is definitely worth the investment to be guided by someone who knows where to go, what to do, and most importantly, where to eat. I can’t say enough about how amazing my trip was and would look forward to traveling again in the future!

This was my first trip to Scotland and words cannot express how thankful I am to have been able to experience it with Ross as my tour guide. I am forever changed. Every day we spent there was perfect. We stayed for 10 days and traveled from the bustling city of Edinburgh up through the enchanting highlands into the Isle of Skye. I loved getting 'lost' in the meadows, going to the pubs to listen to music, seeing castles/gardens, exploring Loch Ness, feeding the highland 'coos', walking the alpaca trail, gift shopping in all the towns/villages and chatting with all the lovely locals. Every recommendation was spot on and personally tailored to all of our individual needs. Ross was punctual, joyous and always looking dapper in his traditional kilt! I can appreciate the true beauty of Scotland so much more now thanks to Personal Tours of Scotland. One day I hope to return and I highly recommend Ross to anyone who wants to feel like they are home away from home.

From the moment we made the decision to contact Personal Tours of Scotland it was a positive experience. After cancelling a bus tour in 2022 due to the terminal illness of my mother, and losing my father less than 6 months after mom, I kept my promise to dad. I had wanted to travel to Scotland for many years, but life kept putting it off. After researching options for rescheduling the trip, I discovered Brian’s company. We met via Zoom with Brian not long after filling out the inquiry form online. The very next morning the response came in to schedule a meeting. A few days passed before we met Brian. I had told him why this trip was so important to me, and he was nothing but understanding and genuine with what he said. I knew we were in the right place. We chose to do a two week adventure through the highlands in October 2023. Brian created an itinerary based off our discussion, and sent it to us very quickly. Fast forward to October, the day before our departure we were contacted by our guide Ross. We were picked up the airport by Ross, and soon after we embarked on our tour. The advantage to choosing a company like this is the personal touches you will never get on a bus tour. We got to see Scotland in a way a I never thought possible. Ross showed us things that I would never even thought of. Our trip quickly became the adventure I could only dream of. We met with some severe weather complications during our trip, but Ross made up for the day lost in so many ways. Once he learned what we truly like our explorations became even more detailed to us. The entire trip turned into one amazing surprise after another. If you’re looking for a trip that is truly personalized there is no reason to look further. Brian and his team will not disappoint!

My grandma and I spent two weeks in Scotland on a tour with Personal Tours of Scotland and it was fantastic. As the first step in the planning process, I had a Zoom call with the owner and we talked about all of the must sees, our interest, activity level, etc. and from there he sent me a detailed itinerary and worked with me on a few changes I requested. All of the hotels, transportation, and most dinners were booked for us, we booked our flights and paid for tickets to museums and other things on site.
Our guide, Ross, was phenomenal. I was a little nervous about spending two full weeks with a stranger but it was great and more like spending two weeks with a long lost friend. He picked us up from the airport and was with us each day, checking us in at hotels, helping us find cows and sheep, telling us fun stories about his grandparents, and finding the best places to take photos and listen to live music. He also worked with us when my grandma needed extra time to rest in the morning or evening, and when she wanted a couple last minute changes to the itinerary. As he got to know us, he also suggested some changes based on my grandmas activity level and interests, everything he recommended was amazing. What was the most special to me was that he also took photos, including photos of me and my grandma, and shared them all with me so now I have so many photos of memories from this trip that I never would have had if we were on our own.
I would not hesitate to book with Personal Tours of Scotland again, and would recommend Ross to all my friends and family, and anyone traveling to Scotland.

We had a fabulous week with Ross. From waterfalls to distilleries he was quite the host. He kept us on schedule while making our days fun. It was incredibly nice when he found my daughter a place for tea in the midst of a busy day. Our time with Ross was not enough, we will definitely be back!
