I recently attended the Hill & Moorland Leader training course and thoroughly enjoyed it. Stuart and his team were brilliant from start to finish. There so much learning material to cover and no stone was left unturned. Over the training days we ventured out to three different locations which really provided great variety and enhanced the training. Highly recommend this for adults involved in the delivery of DofE, and working with groups in our great outdoors.

Stuart and the team at Outlook Adventures are truly outstanding training providers for all outdoor and mountaineering qualifications. I had the pleasure of completing my Lowland Leader, Hill and Moorland Leader, and Camping Leader training and assessments with them, and each experience was exceptional.

The courses were not only well-structured and professionally delivered but also incredibly enjoyable. Stuart’s expertise, supportive approach, and passion for the outdoors made the learning process engaging and confidence-inspiring.

I wholeheartedly recommend Outlook Adventures to anyone seeking high-quality mountaineering training. In my opinion, they set the gold standard in outdoor education, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better provider.

So fortunate that I decided to take on my Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition with Outlook Adventures. Learned many valuable skills from the expedition itself and the advice that came along with it from well-experienced instructors. We were Moroccan rolling!!!

I have just completed the hills and moorland course which was run in different areas near to Glasgow. The course prep materials were great, arrived in time and gave you all the support you needed. The team of assessors cannot be faulted, very approachable and full of information they were always willing to share. Coming from England the land law is different to Scotland so they were all willing to give me information to fill in knowledge gaps. BTW, if coming from England, remember Scottish hills are about 1:3 so do get a bit of experience.
The training during the day is taken at the speed of the group. My group was mature so there were a few more stops than if we had been 21 year old fell runners! At the end of each event you got immediate feedback from the instructor which allowed you to say why you had made certain decisions.
The group feedback at the end of the day was a fantastic confirmation of training skills we had all experienced. All support (not criticism) comment were delivered in such a way that you learnt from the experience and could then build on the points raised.
Overall, this was a very grown up course, well delivered, by professionals who exude a can do attitude.
