Recommendations for Visitors

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay at Orkney Caravan Park, we recommend the following:

Everything clean, Location near the City, but so not really in the nature. BUT really annoyed about the extra costs of the hairdryer and the way to hot showers and the time the showers are supposed to give Water. Feels Like the campsite tries to squeez their profit to Maximum. Also the Price for washing machine and dryer is Not acceptable. We paid 28 pounds for that oke day we were there for washing. You also Need always 2 times dryer to get the laundry dry.

The campsite was great. Clean and very central only issue we had was phone signal and WiFi. Was working by the last day, but planning day trips was hard when we couldn't get online.

This is an excellent site, well situated for a walk into Kirkwall and the supermarkets. The site is clean & tidy. The facilities are excellent and cleaned several times a day. There is a laundry, Kitchen and lounge area. The showers are free but hairdryers are 20p for 3 minutes. The wardens are friendly and very helpful.

Municipal site, flat but not particularly scenic. Ample showers, loos. Large kitchen, lounge area, can sit in to play games, stay dry, charge phone etc. On edge of Kirkwall so convenient for town amenities.

We have stayed in this site in July in one of the lodges. The lodge was very nice, clean and well equipped. You have to bring your own bedding though. The lodges are close to the toilet/ shower facilities, which was very good. We have arrived late due to the ferry and the checkin instructions sent to us earlier (codes to gate and key safe), therefore it went smoothly. The shower facilities are one of the best in Scotland we have ever stayed. When you go in you have a hospital feeling, but its such a good concept that you have your own toilet/ shower/ washbasin unit to use. They even provide sprays and wipes to wipe down everything before use if required. We hired an electric bike as well for a day and the hiring process was smooth as well. The park is well maintained, however more wardens would be better as we only have seen one per day to do everything, cleaning included. The playpark is not really caters to small kids as there are just climbing frames there. The site is in a good location, close to the shops and things to see.

We booked this pitch last minute and thankfully there was a space for us. It was easy to do online and the facilities look brilliant. We've only been here a few hours, and only fir a night. It has everything that is needed. We're here on the islands for about 10 more days so we will probably be back.

I stayed at the campsite from 13th - 17th June. Had a great time there. Such a good location, great facilities and most importantly, best campsite service I have had. The staffs were so nice and really think and arrange things while considering the best for the campers! Definitely recommend to everyone.
