We went on the LGBTQ+ history tour of Brighton this Saturday and absolutely loved it. Our guide, Ric, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough – you could tell how passionate he was about sharing Brighton’s rich and fascinating queer history. Even as locals, we learned so much and heard incredible stories we’d never come across before. It really made us see our city in a new light. Highly recommend this tour to anyone – visitors and locals alike – who want to understand more about Brighton’s LGBTQ+ history and the amazing people who helped shape it.

Ric’s Piers and Queers LGBTQ+ tour of Brighton was absolutely wonderful. His knowledge of the history, personalities, and quotable quotes behind gay Brighton is impressive. In addition, we found Ric to be attentive, well-prepared and easily able to field all of our questions. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating afternoon. Highly recommended!

We really appreciated the opportunity to get a tour learning about the queer history of brighton. We particularly liked how Ric included storys of gay, lesbian and trans people, while being very aware of his language and having a poignant critical view on past and present circumstances. 100% recommend!

Enjoyed an excellent tour of LGBTQ+ history in Brighton (the Piers and Queers Tour). Ric was very friendly and delivered the tour expertly, in an easily understood manner that still went into great depth and treated the subject matter with respect. The stories told were incredibly interesting, and I found myself talking non-stop about them throughout the next few days! You can tell that the tour has been researched very well, with lots of small anecdotes and fun facts adjacent to the main subject matter. I highly recommend this tour, and any other tours Ric provides.

Ric was early & easy to find at exactly the place he shared to meet. Wonderful tour that even held the attention of my teenagers! He was a fabulous tour guide with tales supported by photos on his tablet that he brought along. Greatly enhanced our experience in Brighton! Love the seaside city, love the diversity, love the history, & loved having Ric as our guide. Please share a tip with Ric for me too if you have a bit to spare, as I managed to leave my purse in the car/thought I'd lost it! He definitely deserves it & is worth scheduling the tour with him!

I had a lovely time on this tour in Brighton! I came in mid-November, which is perhaps risky weather-wise but I happened to come down on a sunny, beautiful day! Ric was a lovely host, starting off in Regency Square. I went into this tour a bit blind, so I was delighted to learn that many famous queer people have spent time in Brighton! It was really cool to learn about the history of the places these people used to reside. This was an excellent way to be introduced to the city and I can't wait to come back one day and explore all the nooks and crannies that this gorgeous seaside city has to offer.
