I ticked this preserved line off on my bucket list while I was in the area to see a friend. First of all, the address of the line is very confusing, for “Great Centrql Railway (Nottingham)” sent me on foot to the other side of town and I barely made it on time for my Jungle Bells Express booking thanks to a hastily booked taxi with a local firm that rescued me from the wrong place. I had to tell it to go to Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre. Furthermore, it would be lovely if it was possible for them to couple the Class 116 they used for the service to the Class 144 Pacer, or when the work is finished, the Class 108, so they can set one unit aside for serious train enthusiasts like me to get some peace and quiet to, for example, film out the window without having the engine noise drowned out by stories of Father Christmas and children singing Christmas songs.

Great visit for the beer festival. Train was running. Miniature railway looked great, but didn't go in it as was in a sling with a broken collarbone.
Great beer!

Went today with our granddaughter. Great experience and the 2 elves on the train worked so hard keeping everyone entertained. We saw Santa after the train ride finished which was a great treat for all the kids to see. A well organised event, well done to all involved.

Came on a Saturday. Model and miniature railways not open so our train mad toddler was disappointed. Play area and toys broken and sad. Needs more care and attention to attract visitors.

Visited a few times over the years for bonfire night fireworks displays with fairground and miniature railway fun with the kids. Great time out for the family with food drinks and stalls.

Our son invited us to the diesel exhibition weekend he'd read about, so we got the grandchildren organized(two years and 16 months old) and off we went. We arrived and tootled around for half an hour, looking for the diesels. We finally found a member of staff to ask where it was, to be told "Oh, I think it's been cancelled " but it was still advertised on the website!! Very bad organization. And it was still advertised on the Sunday.
The place itself is very interesting and there's plenty of things for little kids, but when you go specifically to see diesels, which our grandson adores and they can't be bothered to put it up.on the website, it screams of bad organization, hence the low score!
