The hotel is very pretty on the outside, and you can tell its a period building on the inside as the architecture is very interesting. Our room was great, bed exceptionally comfortable. Had some drinks in the lounge on the Friday and the staff couldn't be more helpful, we were out late on the Friday, and the man on the bar was so kind to bring us a jug of cold iced water. Breakfast in bed 1st day was nice. On the Sunday we were late for breakfast, however, the man on the main reception couldn't be helpful enough. He took us to the breakfast room, and we were served a full English, which was deluxe. The lady and young man serving us were also very nice and nothing was too much trouble. We will stay at the Norwood again when we next visit Aberdeen. Uber drivers were also great, only 2 on the go at the moment, but quick and good price. It was a delightful stay. Thanks Norwood. 😀

We decided to honeymoon here as it looked beautiful, the location is good, the building and all the communal areas do not disappoint. We checked in and the staff were very pleasant. They took us to our room through a long, damp and worrying corridor. The room itself was functional and clean but there was zero luxury so a little disappointing. It was fairly small with a reasonably comfy double bed, there was the usual tea/coffee tray. Unfortunately the bathroom was tiny, the door did not shut, the shower was incredibly old and took forever to get warm. The award winning restaurant was not for us, the food was fine, the staff were again pleasant but we were seated in a corner facing into the restaurant and nobody seemed comfortable. The staff were all helpful and polite. We did enjoy our trip.

The location of the hotel is amazing. The front of the hotel and reception got us really excited as it looks beautiful, but the rooms are really disappointing. They are dated and seem like they haven't been deep cleaned for ages. Dirty carpets, dated look of the bathroom. Still overall 3 stars from me as their service was decent, location was amazing and the breakfast we had was delicious. There were a lot of options.

Was great being back to my wedding venue & the place is just as wonderful as it was 3yrs ago. Itison Afternoon Tea voucher which was given to me as gift. Friendly welcome Z& seated by the fire in restaurant. We asked for Mocktails but the don’t have a menu for that but offered us various options they could do which was great but my only quibble was for two it cost £15 which I thought was a bit much. Delicious coffee & afternoon tea (the tuna was a little funky smelling so didn’t eat that). Fab staff & atmosphere & a wonderful few hours with my friend.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a business trip to nearby Robert Gordon University (which is also impressive by the way!). Staff were welcoming and friendly, room was spacious and very peaceful. Breakfast and dinner offers were also great quality, particularly the jus with the chicken - wow! My first trip to Aberdeen and will certainly be returning to this stunning location right on the river Dee with forest surrounding.

Lovely old building 1881. Excellent room lift for elderly. Bar well stocked and barman was pleasurable.|Beautiful grounds.|Room was superb with big windows absolutely perfect. Dinner menu was hit and miss with not a great selection, but it was a mince meal.

Room a bit dated and bed a touch too soft. Did not realise the room booked was an accessibility bathroom/wet room and felt really slippy on the tiled floor. Not too much space for sitting in the lounge or the library. Staff really friendly (especially the lovely lady in the bar).

The MNHH is a bit tired. Dark interior everywhere. First room had a view of roof ventilator shafts. We moved to another room. Second room was very spacious but the furniture, etc. showed its age and condition. It needs a makeover. Chose to eat in the restaurant the first night. Had to wait, literally, 30+ minutes to get out mains. Second night we went out. Breakfast the first morning was in the nice restaurant dining room, the second? back in the cafeteria room.
