Excellent service. We arrived 5:45 PM for the 6:30 ferry. We parked our car in line, waited a few minutes, and then drove on. Very easy. I got the ticket for the Mangus lounge -- this was not worth it. I would skip this in the future. But the Ferry went on time. The next night coming home, we stayed on board in the "Bed and Breakfast." Rooms were small, but very comfortable. I would recommend this so that you can be on the road again on the main land at 8 AM. We arrived at 9:30 PM the night prior, turned over our car keys, and went aboard. We stayed up watching the TV and using the computer for a while in the lounges and then retired. The bathroom are small but very doable. We had a nice shower the next morning. Do not hesitate to take the ferry to Orkney and back. Get the premium room -- a bit bigger space. Again the free drinks in the Mangus lounge -- not worth it. Good value of the money

Travelled on the Hjaltland to Aberdeen, the ship is clean and tidy and crew are helpful, there is a restaurant and bar, shop and cinema. Accommodation is in cabins or sleeping pods both at extra cost. I opted for a pod, the pod lounge was quiet and warm, each pod had a pillow, blanket, eye mask and ear plugs provided.

We had another great experience with the Northlink Ferries. We have booked the vessel from Stromness to Crabster at 06:30 in the morning. Too early you think? No when you use the great B&B service and stay overnight in a cabin and enjoy a breakfast in the morning. Very great offering with access to free coffee and tea in the evening. Of course, there is also a pet friendly cabin, so the four leeged friend can stay with you.

Did the Overnight B&B, Which was worth doing, followed by a lively crossing to scrabster. Very clean and well laid out ferry. Staff on board were very good, but staff in both terminals lacking decent customer service skills, hence 4 not 5 star.

This was one of the most pleasant surprises of our trip. The personnel on the ferry is super friendly and helpful. We also stayed for a night in the premium cabin and the cabin itself as well as all the drinks, food and lounge access that was included in the -very reasonable- price was great. A wonderful experience...
