We booked the whole lodge for a big get togeher (15 adults and 12 children) it was perfect.

The house was lovely and the beds were really comfy.

The space worked well for our group, and the children loved the games room!

The kitchen was great, and we were able to cook for our group in this space easily. A second dishwasher would have been helpful with such a big group - and would have allowed a little less time in the kitchen.

Shap is a great location - we eat in the pub (Kings) it was delicous and we had a chippy also very good! We enjoued the park at the house and in the village. We also emjoyed a wild swim and beautiful walks.

We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Lodge is prefect for walkers on the Coast to Coast. Scott and Leigh-Ann are really good hosts. The place is welcoming and highly sociable for walkers who take the opportunity of a great bar and lounge to socialise after their day's walking. Laundry service was provided for us. Such a great set up for walkers or people on activity visits to the area. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a great time staying at New Ings Lodge. Our room (No 2) was spacious with a nice en suite bathroom. Breakfast was stunningly good (one full English, one green eggs). Fresh coffee, toast and homemade marmalade.
We packed up and then did a walk to the ruins of Shap abbey through to Keld to see the chapel (NT but currently closed for roof repairs) then public footpaths back to Shap.
Excellent morning stopping at Birchwood café in Shap for a coffee and green tea.

Stayed here during coast to coast walk. Great atmosphere and room, very friendly welcome. Breakfast was amazing and the lady serving it was so lovely and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back!☺️

Absolutely fantastic place to stay after finishing up in the lakes on the coast to coast - decent amount of space to camp out in the garden, didn't need to book but would be wise. It is worth noting the train line is behind the garden but it is fine. Dog friendly!!!!

The Owners are incredibly friendly and make you feel very welcome. Currently they have tirrel brewery on 3 taps in their bar. Booking a breakfast was a good idea, first place in 60 miles to get a good coffee!

Excellent one night stay here. The rooms are stylish, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent (can recommend the 'green eggs'...).|The guesthouse is at one end of Shap (which is a long village) - thankfully at the end nearest our stopping point on the coast to coast walk.|NB, no TV's in the guest bedrooms (at least not in ours), but there is a guest lounge and bar.

The accommodation surpassed our expectations. Real care has gone into the decor, the wall maps/ pictures, the cleanliness and surroundings. The bar and garden were unexpected pleasures. We had booked a private dorm room but the overall feel was of a b&b.

Wow what a place, we stopped at the New Ing Lodge on our coast to Coast walk, lovely owners who can’t seem to do enough for you. Bar is open until 8 pm which is great if you have been walking all day, beds very comfy and rooms are clean, you can camp in the garden as well. Worth every penny
