Parking can get very busy on warm days so it's worth getting there early.

Parking is £8.50 all day, however National Trust Members can scan their membership card at the pay and display machine and park for free.

Beautiful space with a squirrel walk, delving into the woods with the chance of seeing the Red Squirrels.

The Dunes could be a bit of a climb, especially for people with mobility issues, and the path to the beach is a little steep but once passed that it's absolutely worth it.

The beach is lovely and well maintained, although if you need to go to the toilet or get a drink, etc, you will have to walk all the way back to the first car park area as there are no facilities on the beach side.

Visited here around lunch time. The parking fee was £7.50 and unfortunately we arrived too late to see any red squirrels but it's a beautiful place to walk around. To have a forest and the beach right next to each other was lovely. Very dog friendly place.

Beautiful place maintained really well, glad to see National Trust stating some of their responsibility in reducing the Red Squirrel population many years ago.. which is the reason for not giving 5 stars... But truly a gorgeous place to explore, so quiet and peaceful!

It's a gorgeous place! I would love to go there more often but parking prices are insane! There are no options to stay an hour or 2, you have to pay for a whole day, unfortunately ?

We've been visiting here for many years.
A lovely nature reserve for the family and love walkers alike.
We have seen red squirrels in the past but not on this our latest visit.
A relaxing combination of woodland walks and beach combing.
There are toilets near the main Nation Trust carpark entrance, also a coffee hut and ice cream van (sometimes another ice cream van in the bottom carpark).
There are other carparks along the coast, check Google maps.

Very lovely and clean beach. Peace and quiet! Very raw and not many people around. Not much to do apart from enjoying the beach (disclaimer 😉 ). You need to walk for a while from the train station to get here, you go through a forest like area (unfortunately we didn't find any toilets around). They say there are red squirrels around but didn't see any 🙁 Overall, I'd recommend. Visited in 2018

My family and I were staying locally and heard about this place. Read a few reviews and decided to take a look for ourselves. We parked up at the National Trust car park which is based centrally to the walking paths. It's £8.50 to park but wasn't an issue. Toilets available regardless and an ice cream van I'm assuming in peak season, but we went on a Tuesday in November so it wasn't available. Parking is ample. Home to a lovely forest home to red squirrels, leading to a large walking path. Multiple walks leading to the beach/sand dunes which were a great spectacle even in winter. Just caught the high tide too, so worth checking before you go. We did a couple of miles over an hour or two with a buggy (although hard at times). Very dog friendly. Lovely walk.

A lovely place to visit. There is a woodland walk area plus a beautiful beach. Parking is fairly limited and I would imagine it gets very busy on a nice day so I would recommend getting there early. It is £8 to park, and I suggest taking change for parking if you are near the woods as WiFi isn't great. Beautiful views.
