The name tells you what it is! There's a sculpture trail around the lake in June 2025 which is lovely. If you stay by the lake then it's an easy walk which you can complete in an hour and then treat yourself at the cafe.

Fantastic walks around the lake and up to the viewpoints. Boating was really fun for the kids too, as was the playpark. Nice food and cakes, completely overpriced but it's a NT standard practice doing that. Niche market, what can you do?

A real hidden gem. Beautiful lake-side walks and stunning views, with a lovely cafe and play park. Always loads of things going on including boating on the lake and trails for the kids in holidays.

An example of what a park should look like..a nice blend of flowers, Rhododendron, Camelia, ancient oaks and conifers along with the lake and the whole wild life surrounding 🦆 🪿 🐦. Being a National Trust member somehow it rewards me from day 1

Lovely place to visit. Plenty of interest to find and see around the gardens, whatever the season, and some lovely views to be enjoyed. There seems to be plenty put on for kids during school holidays to keep them occupied too.

Plenty of parking, a tea room with fairly limited space inside but plenty of room outside on a dry day. No shop or second hand bookshop that I could see, but for those with NT Passports, a stamp is available at the entrance kiosk, and the usual high standard of helpfulness was offered by the National Trust staff around the place. An excellent afternoon out!

It's a nice place to go, spent about 1 to 2hrs here. Staff at counter was helpful and friendly.
We walked the whole Gardens within 1 hour at reasonable pace. Paths were uneven surfaces and stoney. So wear descent footwear.
Area were slope in places.
The cafe was pleasant and clean.
However the jacket potatoes needed to be more hotter, as the cheese didn't melt.
Still taste nice.

Great place to visit all year round. Cafe (open to non members free) is excellent too with home baked cakes etc. Go any season for some great views.
