We stayed as a family of 5 for a couple of nights and really enjoyed the hospitality of the friendly host. Peaceful location with stunning views over the edge of Exmoor.|It’s an old historic farmhouse with wooden panelling and timber structures, with a tasteful modern extension where we had breakfast with a lovely view over the moors.

This is without a doubt the loveliest Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in. Sue is so warm and welcoming and her home is stunning. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, very tastefully put together and with a balcony overlooking the stunning countryside around. So peaceful and tranquil. We stayed two nights while we attended a wedding at Deer’s Leap and the excellent breakfast provided by Sue lined our stomachs for the day’s festivities and was a great hangover cure the next morning! We will definitely stay here again in future and my dream is to return with horses in tow to explore the area on horseback. Thank you for making our weekend perfect Sue and even giving me a book I was keen to read when we reluctantly departed!

What a quaint beautiful place. Sue is a fantastic host. The cottage is like something out of 'The Holiday'.
Every room is full of beautiful trinkets and so clean.
We stayed one night for a local wedding but will definitely return for a longer stay.
Don't hesitate to book.

My friend and I stayed this weekend with our horses. What an incredible place. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for the owners Sue and Barry. They made us and our horses feel extremely welcome. Our horses were given the most luxurious stables that had only just been built, in fact Sue hadn't even used them yet for her own! Their beds were ready and paddocks set out which immediately helped us all to relax and settle in. The house is beautiful and decorated with such character and personal touches. Our room was clean and comfortable with the most beautiful view to our horses grazing ! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious (complete with field mushrooms picked that day!). We even had our own sitting room complete with log burner. We had some great rides with maps and directions provided, Sue was at the end of the line when we got lost ! We can not recommend this place enough. If you stay you will understand how it really does touch your heart. Thanks Sue and Barry you are such lovely people and we will hopefully see you next spring !!!

Sue and Barry are a very special couple opening their lovely home to their guests with a genuine warmth. We had a fabulous 3 night stay and each day we started off with a brilliant breakfast and our thanks to Barry lending us his maps and suggesting places to visit. We were visiting Dulverton on a property search and we were very thankful to Sue and Barry for their help and their friendship when things didn’t go according to plan when we were out during the day, we had such a laugh with them. They are a very interesting and friendly couple, you must pay them a visit, you’ll be so pleased you did.

We stayed for 3 nights to help with the preparations & attend my nephews wedding celebrations at Northmoor House. Immediately made welcome on arrival with a cup of tea and home made cake from Barry & Sue. Lovely room with double doors leading to a balcony with views of the valley.||||Would definitely recommend as an excellent base to explore Exmoor.

This place has a breath-taking wow factor from the bedroom that looks to the back of the property. There is a panoramic view of the countryside and the sound of silence is wonderful, dotted with the distant sound of live stock.||Room tastefully decorated with soft colours, even the duvet and curtains match the true life swallows swooping over the fields.||Breakfast served with same panoramic view and the hens stroll around peacefully. ||We would like to come again as we so loved the views, peacefulness and warmth of our hostess.   Loved our stay.||Note Wi-Fi not up to streaming speed but we did not need that bandwidth so not an issue for us.

There's a very good reason that all bar one of the reviews of Middle Upcott Farm are Excellent (as of August 2015): it IS excellent. Now, normally I don't like B&B establishments. I have an irrational dislike of staying and paying in other people's homes; usually the welcome is as frosty as Exmoor in the depths of Winter. Everything at Middle Upcott Farm confounds my prejudices and then some. Everything about the place is meticulously done but more importantly, even though they specialise in equine B&B, you don't have to be a horsey person to stay there. Mind you, if you are a horsey person, there's nothing Barry and Sue don't know about horses so you'll be in good hands. And if you're a dog person, the same applies. And if you're a chicken person (and few of us are), there are a number of these birds strutting around mainly because they can. The food and the accomodation are superb and the views are stunning. What more can you ask for? Finally, an apology. I've been meaning to write this since May but being a lazy so-and-so I've only just got round to it. Barry and Sue won't have changed since then and neither will Middle Upcott Farm.
