The place was tidy, clean, and perfect for young kids. The prices are £11 for adults, £10 for above 5s, and under 5s are free, booking online isn't required. We went on a bank holiday Friday and was pleasantly surprised that we weren't over ran by families.

It might seem a little on the steeper side but I personally think it was worth it seeing the animals and allowing the kids to run to each open pen with the feed. The larger animals like Cows and Goats are very people friendly. Perfect for prams too.

Parking is free.

This is a fantastic place for a good laugh with some animals.
The goats are gorgeous and full of joy.
There's one llama that is full of sass. The rest are nice, but one of them was well up for a cuddle and mess about. I've added a photo of the llama as this was a highlight for me.
The animals inside today were all up for a treat and a selfie.
The indoor and outdoor play parks are really good and the cafe was surprisingly good. Full English for £9.50. We didn't e, so I o can't comment on quality, but prices were good.

Nice one day or afternoon outing for family. Ample car park space available. Short distance drive towards the location is not tarred and bumpy. Good experience for kids and has got a cafeteria and indoor play area for kids. 50p additional charge for animal feeds. Good variety of animals and nice ambience close to the nature. Take your own gloves if you prefer to feed animals and don't want them licking your hands. Friendly staff. They organise seperate sessions with each animal with a staff member. Last such session at 3pm. Closes at 5pm. Open on sundays and school holidays. Would have been better if there was a staff at each farm/ shed so could have seen animals closer without fear of them jumping out of the fence for food especially for kids. Patchy mobile network in the area.

We love Melsop farm. I know it used to be better a couple of years back, but you can’t blame them for the councils decisions. Kids love the goats especially when there’s baby ones. We like to slowly walk around the fields feeding the animals, and then into the soft play and cafe. (Kids love about 2 hours in there!) and then back out to see the animals again. Easy for us to spend around 5/6 hours here!

Great day out for all the family. They've been shut for a year and we wanted to support them, especially as they're only 10 minutes down the road. All animals looked well looked after, clean with plenty of food and clean water.
You can buy animal food at the reception, and take some 20p for the bird food.
I would strongly advise taking wellies.
There is a play area, soft play and cafe also, hopefully get to use these next time.
We will be back soon

Great! The animals were so cute & friendly and there were lots of different kinds to look at. Sadly the weekend activities didn’t go ahead on our visit (perhaps because it was a Sunday and it wasn’t busy enough), which was a shame because we really wanted to do the rabbit and guinea pig handling, but the lady that was working with the animals was so kind and took us into a few different animal pen’s & let us hold the baby goats and rabbits. She also answered all of our questions about the animals. You can tell that the animals are cared for really well here <3 Only down side is that there aren’t any vegetarian options in the cafe other than chips, the entrance tickets are quite expensive & there was no information stating that the animal activities weren’t happening.

Our grandson really enjoyed the soft play.
Nice little gift shop and again all reasonably priced

Melsop Farm Park was a nice morning out with the kids.

We primarily went for the animals, which were lovely to see - it very much has a working farm atmosphere, but the animals are clearly well looked after and seemed happy and healthy.

We were impressed to see a pretty large outdoors play area as well as a soft play and cafe. We didn't utilise these, but I'm sure lots of families would get use out of it.

It's worth noting that this is a farm, in England - bring wellies, waterproofs and clothes you don't mind getting muddy. We elected to bring our kids on carriers, rather than prams, and we're glad we did!

It wasn't cheap to visit, and it didn't fill up a whole day, but if you're local to Melsop Farm it's certainly worth a visit. I'm sure we'll be back again later in the year and since they had visible ongoing renovations, it may be an even nicer trip out next time.
