We had a great 2 night stay at Glen Bay Lodge. Cat is a great host and spent time talking with us despite being very busy on the farm. The animals are delightful and our kids loved our stay. There is a folder in the lodge with lots of information about the animals (most of them are rescues) and you are free to visit and get close to the animals.||The lodge is clean and tidy and beds are comfy. Cat also had a drawer under the freezer with citronella candles and incense which is definitely needed around the hot tub in the evening for the midges! ||Dumfries hotel nearby was great for food and there are well stocked local shops as well. We will definitely be back.

We had a great time on the farm. Watching the animals is great fun, especially the freshly washed sheep. Our neighbours, the Highland cattles, became really trusting over time. Of course, this was due to the good introduction (with biscuits) that Cat gave us during the tour of the farm. But we managed to stroke them even without biscuits.

Cat was a lovely friendly hostel. Lodge was well equipped and spotless with a hot tub too. Lovely surrounded with the farm animals and got the loveliest welcome and cuddles from all the dogs. Enjoyed walkidown by the river, scenery was stunning

A warm welcome from Cat when we arrived set the tone for a wonderful few days at Meikle Westland Farm. This is a place to go to relax and get-away-from-it-all; a lovely farm at the bottom of a winding lane, set in a lush green valley bordering the River Nith. ||The lodge (Glen Roe) was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and with everything you need for a comfortable few days in the country. ||The farm makes a great base for exploring the nearby sites, including Dumfries House and, slightly further afield, Culzean Castle. What better way to end the day than by sitting out on the patio in the evening with a glass of chilled white wine, highland cattle in the next field, and the farm’s dalmatians looking for a cuddle and attention!

Myself and 5 friends visited to bring in the New Year and had an absolutely phenomenal time. Lodges are very cosy, and hot tub is a great addition to an already wonderful place to stay.
The real highlight however was the outstanding hospitality we received from the owner. Being greeted by her lovely dogs was a brilliant way to start the stay, and then on New Years Day we were invited to feed the new lambs! The owner was so knowledgable on all of her animals which was fascinating to learn about, and she was happy for us to explore the rest of the farm to meet the rest of her furry friends.
Can't recommend this place enough, will definitely be back!

Stayed at Glen Bay Lodge this month. Greeted on arrival by the gorgeous dogs was fun; a blur of spots and wagging tails. The cabin was lovely, well equipped, spotless and very cosy. Being able open the door and have sheep and shetland ponies right outside was great. Cat was very welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. I'd like to visit again in spring/summer, to enjoy the surroundings during the longer, warmer days. Even on a cold November day, being in the hot tub with sheep in the adjoining paddock and the dogs coming by to say hello was a treat. Overall a wonderful wee place to just switch off and relax.

We spent New Year at Meikle Westland Farm, and I couldn’t be happier with our choice. This hidden gem is perfect for anyone who loves animals and a tranquil escape. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Despite the snowfall, we made full use of the hot tub and then took advantage of the excellent cooking facilities in the lodge to prepare a delicious dinner for six. The lodge was spacious, well-equipped, and had everything we could possibly need. We’ll definitely be returning!
