My husband I took two tours with Mad Max in July 2024, and we're big fans! We took tour 2 and tour 3.

Our tour guides, Richard and Shawn, were both knowledgeable, fun (and funny!), and trustworthy. They're passionate and obviously very familiar with the areas and topics covered in the tours. I felt safe and secure on the road with both guides, even on some very tight roads.

I'd absolutely book more tours with Mad Max, and I've already recommended them to my parents, who are heading to Bath next year.

Thanks, Richard, Shawn, and Maddy!

We booked the Stonehenge / Cotswold tour in early March 2024. Communication from the company was excellent. They answered some of my initial question in a timely fashion leading up to the tour date and provided good instructions on the time and place for pick-up.

For the tour itself, Richard was our tour guide and he did a first rate job. He was engaging throughout the tour providing a lot of information as went from site to site. I appreciate we did Stonehenge first and he got us there as the park opened so we could beat the crowd. I think overall the pacing was good and that the time spent at each location was just about right – enough time to see what was there and not feel rushed while getting us on to the next site in a timely manner.

Richard also deserved a medal for negotiating the bus through some incredibly narrow roads (and safely I should add). I was truly relieved I did not have to do any of the driving myself. It is a full day to be sure and overall good value for money. Also, of note the tour is capped at 14 people so it keeps things manageable, and you get a bit more of a personal touch with the experience.

Highly recommend!

I'm not big on tours, but I really, really liked this one! I have so many good things to say about it.

For starters, Richard was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and super funny! Great voice too. I liked that he gave us some photos and objects we can look at while we were on the road.

For the tour itself, it was well organized and well worth the cost. Pacing was great. Perfect amount of time to see every part of each town we went to.

I appreciate that not only do you get to see Stonehenge (before the crowds show up!) but also a few villages that are wonderful and picturesque. I'm visiting the UK without a car, so I wouldn't have been able to see them on my own.

Also appreciated that bathrooms were free, clean and easy to access in each place we stopped at.

Highly recommended!!

We had a beautiful adventure with Mad Max. Our guide, Kevin, was extraordinarily kind and friendly. He offered such interesting facts about the area and suggestions for the best viewing spots. Every little village in the cotswolds felt like out of a fairytale. I highly recommend exploring with mad max!

Despite bucketing rain pretty much throughout our Tour 1 - Stonehenge, Avebury & Cotswold Villages on autumn equinox day - Guide & great driver Jerry made it good fun with enough info & stories without overdoing it. We kept to time which meant we got to Stonehenge before the crowds arrived & also had adequate time at the designated stops. Jerry persevered with the guided walking tour in steady rain around Lacock with printed pics of film locations from Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice & Downton Abbey as well as giving us a general history of this lovely village. I had National Trust membership from Australia & this granted me free entry at Stonehenge, Avebury Manor gardens & Lacock Abbey. Brought some lunch with me & managed to squeeze in the visit to Lacock Abbey (HP scenes filmed here) during the lunch break. Memorable day despite inclement weather & I would recommend Mad Max to my friends down under!

My husband and I really enjoyed the Mad Max tour 1. We arrived early at Stonehenge before the crowds. It was well worth the early start. Gerry, our driver and guide, was wonderful. He pointed out many interesting sights on our way to Avesbury, and two villages in the Cotswolds, as well as the stories of the places we visited. I think a small group tour is the best way to go (There were 14 of us). You get a lot of attention, but still much more affordable than a private tour.

Fantastic tour to Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock and Castle Combe. Kevin, our driver and guide, went above and beyond to get us safely to the sites and provide helpful commentary. Highly recommended.

The Cotswold tour is truly an amazing experience. From 1000 year old churches to King Charles' store, this journey through time was led by Jerry. He was super friendly and even more knowledgeable. A++ I enjoyed every kilometer, every second! Thank you!!!!
